Every year in midsummer in Chinese mainland, Gesang blossoms. The hot sunshine makes me miss the cool Gannan very much, because it is not only one of the "five pastoral areas" in China, but also a "green treasure house" with the same reputation as Shennongjia, and it has also been selected as "50 places where life must go" in National Geographic. Gannan is known as "Little Tibet", and the temples have a very lofty position in the hearts of local people, while Labrang Temple belongs to the Potala Palace in Gannan. It is not only a temple with a long history, but also a spiritual projection of culture, showing the existing form of plateau life to the world.

Labuleng Temple, located in the west of Xiahe County, is a world-famous Tibetan university. At the peak, the number of monks was as high as 4000. In front of the temple is the famous Daxia River in southern Jiangxi, and on the other side is an endless mountain peak.

In contrast, Xiahe County is just an obscure small county in Gansu Province. The main income of local residents still depends on traditional animal husbandry, and the overall economic strength is at the bottom of Gansu, but even so, the happiness index of local people is surprisingly high.

It is said that taking a taxi in Xiahe County only costs 2 yuan to go anywhere. Although the driver will pick up passengers and carpool along the way, I have to say that the price is really cheap. Xiahe county is small, and the main streets are clear at a glance. In recent years, with the increase of tourists, there are many restaurants and homestays on both sides of the street, which are affordable and unique in flavor.

The famous local drink is freshly cooked milk tea. First, add water to the pot, add brick tea to boil, and then pour in fresh milk after the tea is fragrant. Finally, according to the taste of the guests, add some ginger slices or green salt to make it taste delicate and mellow.

Hand-grabbed mutton is mostly made of lamb chops. Cut into four-inch strips, put them in the secret broth and simmer for two or three hours. Take it out and air dry after eating, and pour a little ghee juice. That tastes like a word, awesome!

Fill your stomach, get on the bus and fly all the way west (actually about one kilometer). After entering the canyon, you can see the Labrang Temple, which covers an area of nearly 900,000 square meters.

My first impression of it began with the 3.5-kilometer-long outer wall, because I have never seen such a magnificent temple. With the deepening of understanding, I found that Labrang Temple is not simple. There are two completely different buildings on both sides of the long street.

It is about 10 km away from the county seat, and it is an endless Moraceae grassland. The average altitude here is more than 3000 meters, which is the real "grass and sky are one color". Unlike angular peaks and dangerous peaks, the lines here are soft everywhere. The white spots on the hill are not white clouds, but comfortable herbivorous sheep ... further on is the sea, surrounded by mountains on three sides. Every June, a large number of pilgrims make pilgrimages here. For a time, the whole lake was covered with cigarettes and was in high spirits.
