At the foot of Hongyun Jinding, the wind and rain suddenly increased and it felt very cold. Hongyan insisted on climbing Hongyun Jinding, bought a raincoat and bravely walked up. At this time, the cold wind was biting and the rain was beating, and my hands were already frozen. Hongyun Jinding is surrounded by dense fog. Because of the wind and rain, the shape of Hongyun Jinding is difficult to see. Hongyan pulled the chain in front of her, picked the stone steps with her feet and insisted on climbing. I followed behind to protect her. We have almost reached more than two-thirds of Hongyun Jinding. The last stone ladder left is almost 90 degrees. For safety, I won't let Hongyan climb up again. This vertical stone ladder is dangerous to climb at ordinary times, what's more, it's stormy today, and my hands are too cold to catch the chain. If I slip, the consequences will be unimaginable. I insist that Hongyan stop climbing.

We went up and down the top of the mountain for three hours, but we didn't see the true colors of mushroom stones and hongyun jinding, didn't see wild animals such as green hills, cypresses, flowers and birds, only saw fog and rain, and felt the cold wind on the top of the mountain in early summer, which was daunting.

Fifth day

Today's itinerary is not compact, but last night Hongyan found an ancient city of Tongren near the hotel. She seemed to want to see every scenic spot, so she added it. Leave the hotel at 9:30 and arrive at the underground parking lot of the ancient city in a few minutes. From 9: 40 to 10: 20, it took only 40 minutes to visit Tongren ancient city. Then go to Tongren Grand Canyon, 1 1:25 and arrive at the scenic parking lot. We follow Hongyan's plan to take the western route. The road on the mountain is well built, not steep, but it is difficult to walk because of the wind and rain. Fortunately, I have a backpack and raincoat to protect my back, otherwise I would freeze to death. Hongyan is wearing a thick coat. Taohuayuan people have lived an isolated farming life here for a long time, with chickens and wine, no shortage of food, and a simple and rich life. Entering the building, Fan Zhongyan's "The Story of Yueyang Tower" is engraved on the front wall on the first and second floors, and Du Fu's "The Story of Climbing Yueyang Tower" written by Mao Zedong is engraved on the front wall on the third floor. Standing on the Yueyang Tower overlooking Dongting Lake, I saw that the lake was rippled by the breeze, the sun shone on the lake, and Tianshui in the distance was endless.

However, the significance of Yueyang Tower goes far beyond being a famous building, but it has become a place to spread Chinese culture. Throughout the ages, its charm has attracted countless tourists to stay here, and also tempted countless writers and masters to stay here. The most famous is The Story of Yueyang Tower written by Fan Zhongyan, a writer in the Northern Song Dynasty. Some idioms and classic sentences that we often use now come from Yueyang Tower. For example, everything is thriving, the soup is vast, the sun is shining in the morning, the weather is colorful, the spring is quiet and the waves are calm. They have been here before and go to the top of the mountain by car to see the snow in winter. Today, the temperature in Nanyue District is 18, and the weather is fine, which is very suitable for mountain climbing. There are still 3 kilometers to go, but she flinched and completely lost the spirit of climbing in the wind and rain like Fan Jing and Tianmen Mountain.

I have never been to Hengshan Mountain in Nanyue before. The weather is fine today, and the opportunity is rare. I decided to climb to the top of the mountain alone. 12:20, starting from the hiking trail. I'm so tired that my legs are tight. Fortunately, there was only one section of the pedestrian lane, which was later merged into the driveway. When going up the mountain, you can watch and take photos at every scenic spot. It took 70 minutes to reach the peak of Zhurong Peak. I saw the "Shangfeng Temple" on the road, and I knew it was a "Taoist" temple from the couplet on the archway. I didn't go in. The highest point, Zhurongfeng, is1300m above sea level, and there is a "Zhu Rong Temple", which is a Buddhist temple. Hengshan incense is flourishing, and people who come to worship Buddha are in an endless stream. On the road, most people carry many incense sticks. Hongyan and I didn't buy any. I think a few people didn't take incense sticks. Several teams of students went to the mountains for military training. The children are laughing and tireless.

I also went to Zhu Rong Temple to have a look. People bow down or stand inside with incense sticks, then take the incense sticks out of the temple and throw them into the big cement furnace on the left to burn. This is called "worship" and "burning". I am a doctor, I know physiology and medicine, and I know what is the true meaning of people and life. On the other hand, I have systematically studied Marxist philosophy in middle schools and universities, and I have learned it well, so I don't believe in any religion. Our country's constitution is very liberal, which says, "China citizens have the freedom to believe in religion, and they also have the freedom not to believe in religion."
