Legal basis:

Article 56 of the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on Public Security Administration Punishment stipulates that hotel staff who fail to register the names, types and numbers of identity documents of the guests, or who knowingly bring dangerous goods into the hotel without stopping them, shall be fined between 200 yuan and 500 yuan.

Hotel workers who know that the overnight guest is a criminal suspect or wanted by the public security organ but do not report to the public security organ shall be fined from 200 yuan to 500 yuan; If the circumstances are serious, he shall be detained for less than 5 days and may be fined less than 500 yuan.
