5.29 Confucius said, "In a city with ten rooms, there must be people who are faithful as hills, so they don't seek knowledge as hills."

There are only ten families in a small town. There must be someone as honest as Kong Qiu, but not as studious as me. This is Confucius lamenting that talents are easy to get and knowledge is rare.

This sentence, as soon as it is said, is easy to understand, as if everyone understands it, and everyone feels that they are almost eager to learn. So you have to come up with a studious standard to see if you are studious. If everyone is eager to learn, how can Confucius have such a sigh? To sum up the standards of sages, Confucius, Mencius, Zisi, Wang Yangming and Zeng Guofan, the most important ones are these four:

First, there is guidance. The first thing to learn is determination, direction, clear mission and no distractions.

The second is the unity of knowledge and action. The unity of knowing and doing can be decomposed into thinking about things and observing oneself.

Third, continuous work day after day, focusing on persistence and uninterrupted day after day.

The fourth is to review the old and learn the new. If you don't look back, you won't know what's new.

Today, we are going to learn the last chapter of The Analects.

I mentioned Ye Gong's novels many times, but I was actually evaluating the characters. From the beginning to evaluate Confucius' students, to later to evaluate officials and scholars, and then to ambition, Kong Old Master Q finally talked about himself today.

How did Confucius evaluate himself? Listen, but it's meaningful.

Confucius said, "There must be faithful people in a city with ten rooms. It is better to learn from the mountains."

Sounds simple, only a small place for ten families. The city here refers to a small place. Ten-room city, small village, and later city also refers to county. This refers to a small village.

Loyalty and faith, this is what we have always admired.

The so-called loyalty is loyalty to people and things, especially to the outside world. For example, loyalty to the country, loyalty to superiors, and loyalty to work.

The so-called trust, in fact, is for yourself, honest and trustworthy, that is, there is a bottom line in being a man.

This is a small place with only ten families. In such a small area, there are people as loyal and trustworthy as me.

Everyone will definitely say: impossible, not everyone can be a saint! Listen to the next sentence of Confucius. It's not as easy to learn as Qiu Zhi.

Why did Confucius say that?

I'm sure everyone will have a lot of questions. For example, our comrades are also very studious and take the initiative to participate in various studies. Today's speech, tomorrow's voice, acquired psychology, academic community operation, video number production, etc. And we are constantly learning.

Are we like Confucius?

Why does Confucius think that the loyalty that everyone values is very general and can be done? Not only I, but also Confucius can do it. Most of us can do it, but the studious can't.

Here, my understanding is that the focus is on "good". Love, like, initiative, enthusiasm as always.

The emphasis is on initiative and persistence.

Huashan summed up the standards of sages, such as Confucius, Mencius, Zi Si, Wang Yangming and Zeng Guofan. Found that there are four easy to learn.

Let me just talk about him. I think what he said is right.

What exactly is studious? Listen carefully, and you will find it is not easy.

The first is that the will is directional.

The first thing to learn is determination, direction, clear mission and no distractions.

In college, they said: Don't worry about peace.

Zhi Zhi then has a decision, then he can be quiet, then he can be quiet, then he can be safe, then he can think about it, and then he can get it.

This is the whole process of learning, the first Zhi Zhi.

In other words, you should have a clear goal, know what you are doing, act with boundaries, stop at that boundary, move in your own direction, not be impetuous, and not be tempted by opportunities, so that you can concentrate on your study.

In other words, the goal here is what we have achieved, such as what Buddhism calls the other shore. This point must be emphasized.

These two or three years of study have left a deep impression on me, and this is the key point. If we just study, just study blindly, without a clear goal, we are easily confused.

Learning to study is very interesting, very interesting. If you learn, you don't know why. You slowly let go. Once your interest has passed and your enthusiasm has passed, there will be no more.

This is aimless. I don't know what I am studying for. I am only satisfied with the process of learning, and I don't really want to achieve such a result.

For example, if we learn pronunciation and go to a pronunciation training camp, how many people really practice every day and become real good voices?

We study public speaking. How many people really take public speaking as their daily life?

We practice calligraphy. How many people can really practice well? Continue to work towards the goal. If we can't reach our goal, shall we stop? This is very critical.

If we don't have our own goals and just want to succeed, we will feel that there are opportunities everywhere. This is good. I want to study. That's good. I want to do it.

The result is that the direction is uncertain, the goal is uncertain, and finally it just flows in the process of learning, with no result.

You didn't get the result. You learn well, but you learn well. Where is the result?

In the last chapter, I talked about Confucius' ambition. Old people are safe, friends believe, and a few are pregnant.

He wants to educate the world with his own thoughts, so he can travel around the world at will, hoping to get the appointment of a king of a country, display his ambition, prove his theory is correct and feasible with practice, and really seek happiness for the whole world.

His ambition is to save China, not to be promoted to a higher position. If the promotion is to do this, not to be an official, he will go to see Nanzi in order to serve the country, not for fame and fortune, but to realize his political views.

Lutz didn't want to say, teacher, Nanzi's style is not good. She is the famous Yanji, the Queen of Demons. What do you mean you went to see her?

Confucius was humiliated by Lutz's questioning, so he swore that God would punish me if I did something I shouldn't have done. It can be seen that Confucius is also quite cute!

In order to carry out his political opinions, Confucius actually gave up many things, that is, he longed for an opportunity, but he never gave up his ambition or his political opinions. Finally, although he didn't get much fame and fortune, he became a shepherd boy, but he also got knowledge and passed it on to future generations, becoming a teacher for future generations.

Think about it, we should all study hard. But have we really reached this standard? Do we have a clear goal and a firm direction? Please consider this.

The second is the unity of knowledge and action.

The unity of knowledge and practice is emphasized by Wang Yangming, and now it can be said that it is the representative of Wang Yangming's mind.

It can be divided into thinking about things and observing yourself.

The so-called thinking about things means specific things to go to school and daily middle school.

We don't mean that only reading is called learning, but as Confucius said: if you have spare capacity, you can learn literature. Do things before reading.

Even if you read a book, you should practice on specific things and learn from them. Learning is devotion, so you must learn, that is, practice, practice and repeat until you turn others' into your own.

Simply reading books, in fact, can't be learned. We must verify it in practice. We will find problems and come back to solve them. Finally, we can turn other people's books into our own. We want to know whether this is the case.

Chairman Mao repeatedly emphasized in "On Practice" that after learning, we should act, after acting, we should think, and after thinking, we should study, think and act again. In short, it is a spiral.

Everything you have learned must be put into practice and verified in practice.

The same book, the same sentence, different people say it with different flavors. Why? This is because some people practice it, such as Kong, Chairman Mao, and Uncle Cat. To tell the truth, it is particularly infectious and influential.

Some people talk lightly and unconvincingly.

People who never get up early say getting up early is great. I don't believe the welfare you listed 100. Do you find it interesting to get up early because you sleep until twelve o'clock all day? Unity of knowledge and action.

Therefore, Wang Yangming emphasized knowing but not doing it, in order not to know.

Our comrades in arms, we seem to know a lot of truth. Have we made a move? Have you achieved the unity of knowing and doing? Think about this work.

Third, continuous work day after day, focusing on persistence and uninterrupted day after day.

At this point, Zeng Guofan is a very good example, and he particularly emphasized this point. Learning must be continuous day after day, and one day cannot be interrupted.

You can't say that you are busy today, so I will make up lessons tomorrow. You can't say that you are not busy today. Tomorrow's class can't be finished in advance, and you can't say that you will go out these days and do it when you come back. You should take your homework and finish it in the hotel at night. Without constant persistence, it is impossible to really learn well.

Having said that, I especially agree with you. Why do I say that we must work day by day and do it? This is the real root cause.

100% is easier than 99%. Why? Because after you have this idea in your heart, you will do it every day without making any excuses for yourself. It's not that 99% is enough. It doesn't matter today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. In the end, you will find that your data is unreadable, and it doesn't matter if you give up in the end.

And if you can't stick to it for a long time, where can there be real results?

At this point, Huashan is very good. He wrote several books, explaining the Analects of Confucius, the Art of War and so on. He has done this every day for 365 years.

Meng Jie publishes books every year. The book 1 1 published this year also gets up in the morning, writes every morning, and publishes books every year, which is so powerful every day. Big brother also works day after day. If we continue to do this, it won't break down.

If you can really do the day shift after listening to the third item we talked about today, then you are incredible. Therefore, we must really recognize it from the bottom of our hearts and do it.

The fourth is to review the old and learn the new.

Why review the past and learn the new? Just don't always think about learning new things, but always think about pursuing new things and seeking speed.

Because there are many temptations outside. Just listen to this man, and that man's words are good. Everyone needs to study. I can't wait to itch, just like seeing a beautiful woman, try to see more. I want to taste the food when I see it.

However, I always want to learn new things. Have you mastered what you have learned? If you don't master what you have learned, throw it away after you have learned it. For example, we read a book every day. Nowadays many people emphasize reading a book every day. After reading this book, we feel very good, very good. Then the next day we read the second book. On the third day, we asked what we had read on the first day, but we couldn't remember anything. After reading this book, we won't touch it for a year or even ten years. How much can you remember?

Just like a monkey breaking corn, you break the new one and throw away the old one, so why break it?

That's why Confucius said that reviewing the past and learning the new can be a teacher.

When we learn something, we must pay attention to it. We should not study for novelty, but try to use it after learning. If you find that you have not mastered it, you should review more, review more and understand more, so that you can truly master it in depth. Become your own, and then we will pursue new knowledge, remember not to become a mere formality.

Take writing as an example. For example, I just copied the Tao Te Ching yesterday, and according to Zhao Mengfu's post, I came word by word, chapter by chapter.

Every time I finish writing, I have to look at the whole again and again. My handwriting is not neat as a whole, a little eccentric, or the center of gravity is on the left, or the center of gravity is on the right, or upper or lower.

What about the spacing? This applies to word-to-word, row-to-row, and column-to-column.

There is also the word, for example. What about its strokes? The horizontal line should be slightly tilted, and the result is even, so write it down. This stroke is not long enough, this vertical line is not straight enough, this moon character, the moon of the moon, the left-right ratio is not good, and so on. See what the problem is, and then write it after you have written it.

We need to improve this word a little bit, every day, every day, so that we can write better and better, otherwise you write so much all day, what's the use of writing 1 10,000 times? Still the same.

I have just talked about the four studious standards listed by Huashan for ancient sages, that is, clear goals, unity of knowledge and practice, continuous efforts every day, and learning new things by reviewing old ones.

I hope you can compare and see if you are a studious person. If we can all do it, then you are not far from the realm of Kong Old Master Q Q..

Time is up, and today's interpretation of this chapter is over. Ye Gong's whole novel is over. Starting from tomorrow, we will interpret the next article "Forever Night".

What exactly is an article about? Let's start with the first chapter.

Confucius said: Harmony can also make the South.
