Do you need to use image orthographic correction to measure the area of ground objects?

There are many methods of orthorectification, including strict physical model and general empirical model. The strict physical model is expressed by collinear equation, but in order to obtain higher accuracy, it is necessary to know the orbit parameters and attitude parameters of the sensor. The application of empirical model is flexible. Orthophoto can be obtained as long as there are enough control points, but its accuracy is often limited by terrain and control points. The most important orthophoto production is the digital photogrammetry method based on stereo image pairs. However, it is not easy to obtain remote sensing images from stereo images, and the cost is high, which requires a certain number of control points. This paper mainly introduces several common orthographic correction algorithms and how to realize orthographic correction in software.
