So how to use SLR photography to have artistic beauty without losing cultural and artistic accomplishment? Let's take a look at the shooting skills of SLR portrait photography!
SLR Portrait Photography Skills Selection of Portrait Photography Location;
Most people choose hotels, but different indoor spaces actually bring different visual effects. If you don't want the film to be vulgar, try to choose a relatively elegant and clean room. If you want a strong feeling, you need fancy interior design.
Lens selection:
Large aperture lens is more suitable for private shooting, because the blur effect can make the whole body softer, and when shooting close-ups, the blur of other parts of the body can also make the vision more focused. Another reason is that if you want to shoot in low light, a large aperture is also more favorable, because the space is basically narrow when shooting indoors. It is recommended to use a 35mm or 50 mm fixed-focus lens. If the focal length is longer, you can only shoot the lower body.
Aperture:
Use f/ 1.2, f/ 1.4, f/ 1.8 and other large apertures. 50mm f/ 1.8 is only a few hundred dollars, great lens. On APS-C format camera, the equivalent focal length of 50mm lens is 80mm, which is very suitable for taking portraits.
Shadows and uniform light:
Let the model be in the shadow area, and the light shining on the model's face should be uniform. The model had better stand in the shadow and face the light source.
Flash shooting:
Flash can shoot a more fashionable feeling, but pay attention to the angle of light. If possible, try to use as many light sources as possible, so that you can take more three-dimensional and layered private photos.
Spotlight:
Soft-tone portrait lighting is a uniform lighting method of the middle color of the picture. Soft-tone portraits are characterized by the hazy and soft feeling of the picture, which mostly depicts the image of the subject with medium light and dark tones, and also requires the element color of the picture to be mainly medium tones. It gives people a relatively light and bright visual feeling and a light and pleasant feeling. This paper briefly introduces several commonly used lighting methods: fully enclosed, top light enclosed, top light semi-enclosed, reflected light semi-enclosed (light reflection), side backlight with reflector, etc.
In soft-tone portrait lighting, we can also use some lighting techniques, such as backlight and side backlight. Backlight and side backlight can make the figure outline prominent, increase the three-dimensional change, and make the figure feel transparent. And in the exposure, you can also use the method of overexposure to the local area of the picture, which can strengthen the effect of soft tone and at the same time achieve the effect of strengthening the local background and figure outline.
Focus on the eyes:
If you use a large aperture lens, be sure to focus on your eyes. In the case of shallow depth of field, other areas of the face will be slightly out of focus. To enhance this effect, you need to shoot close to the model, preferably close-up.
Choose the aperture carefully:
If you want to take a full-length portrait, you should carefully choose the aperture to ensure that the body parts of the model are within the depth of field. If you still use a large aperture such as f/2.8, the depth of field will be too shallow. Reduce the aperture to f/5.6, and ensure that the shutter speed is not lower than1125s. If necessary, increase the sensitivity or fill the light. This combination is just a suggestion. You can try different combinations to find the best setting.
Manual mode:
Many articles suggest using aperture priority mode. This is no problem when you first came into contact with the camera 1 month. But if you want to shoot better, you must learn to use manual mode.
Eye light:
Make sure that the model's eyes reflect some light, even in the shadow, as long as you keep the model and the light source oriented.
Props:
Don't let the models go home empty-handed, give them something to hold. The commonly used props are bouquets, and even men can take pictures with them.
Pay attention to the background:
Let the background have light or shadow, in short, keep it simple, and the model is the main body of the picture. When shooting outdoors, it is best to choose an open background instead of bushes or walls.
Composition:
Composition is very important when shooting. It is natural and beautiful to share the composition of some common private photos.
Of course, the pose of the model is also very important in the whole shooting process. The basic principle is not to let the model pose in a position that ordinary people will not pose at home or at any time.
Fill light:
When shooting indoors, you often need to fill the light, but don't fill the light too strongly, which will make private photos lose their softness and layering. Generally speaking, flash lamps are filled with light manually, but from experience, it is better and more natural to fill with reflector.
