The difference between pulmonary consolidation and pneumonia in children

Different definitions; The etiology is different; The image performance is not equal.

Different definitions: children's lung consolidation refers to the disappearance of gas in the lung and substantial changes in lung tissue; Pneumonia refers to inflammation of the lungs.

The etiology is different: children's lung consolidation is mainly caused by infection, abnormal immune response and pulmonary dysfunction; Pneumonia is mainly caused by bacteria, viruses, mycoplasma, chlamydia, fungi and other pathogens.

The imaging performance is different: when normal lung tissue is imaged by ultrasound, the internal structure cannot be displayed. In children with pulmonary consolidation, the gas in alveoli is replaced by pathological fluid or tissue, and the internal structure can be displayed by ultrasound examination. When you have pneumonia, you can see the enhancement of lung texture through chest X-ray examination. With the further development of the disease, patchy infiltration or patchy shadows of both lungs can be seen.
