Introduction to Queen Elizabeth Islands

All the islands in the Canadian Arctic Islands north of 74 30' north latitude, including the Parry Islands and Sverdrup Islands. The largest islands are ellesmere island, Melville Island, devon island and Axel Heiberg Island, with a total land area of over 390,000 square kilometers (654,380,500 square miles). British navigators Ba Fen and Bertrand once explored some areas (1615 ~1616), but the vikings may have arrived here for the first time as early as BC 1000. The western end of the archipelago (including Prince Patrick Island, Melville Island, Boden Island and King Macmore Island) belongs to the northwest administratively, but most of the area is under the jurisdiction of Nunavut. 1953 was named Queen Elizabeth Islands to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II.

The northernmost group of islands in the Canadian Arctic Islands. Including ellesmere island (the largest area), Svalbard-Lop, Parry Islands and many small islands.
