SLR Night Portrait Shooting Skills

? Are you always worried that you can't take good pictures at night? So let's get into the night portrait shooting technique now.

1, shooting in RAW format

If the camera's automatic white balance is used in the complex light source environment at night, it is difficult to get the ideal effect. Generally speaking, using automatic white balance will make the color of light deviate from the original color. So shoot in RAW format to record more details of the picture, which is convenient for adjusting the color temperature later.

2. Synchronous shooting with Hou Lian.

When shooting portraits at night, the shutter speed is often slow due to limited lighting conditions. During this period, the model may shake, and ghosting will occur in the photo. In this case, we suggest shooting in Hou Lian synchronous mode, so that when the shutter is about to close, the flash will flash. The advantage of this mode is that even if the model shakes slightly during the exposure time, it will not be recorded.

3. Find the right shooting distance

Pay attention to the relationship between photographer and model when shooting. If you stand too far, the flash can't fill the light, it's too close. The model's face will be pale. Therefore, the use of soft light equipment is a way to make the light shine softly and evenly on the model's face. Or using walls is also a good way to jump and flash.

4. Look for artificial light sources that can be used

Although the night scene belongs to low light environment, even if there is no flash. We can still find available artificial light sources, such as luminous spheres, street lamps, windows and so on. Making full use of this point can also make the characters get the ideal fill light. However, it should be noted that the artificial light source is best to be warm, and no one wants to have it. The face was photographed as blue or green.

5. Make beautiful facula with telephoto lens.

The telephoto lens can compress the distant background, produce large spots and blur everything behind it, which is very suitable for shooting romantic night portraits. At this time, you can make good use of holiday lights in various shopping malls.

6. Auxiliary light focusing in dark environment

The colorful spots reflected in the picture add a lot of mystery to the work in the dark night. However, it is difficult for a camera to lock the focus of an object in the dark, especially when it is backlit, and it is difficult for a good camera to find the focus. At this time, an auxiliary light source can be used to help the camera complete autofocus, such as the display screen of the mobile phone, flashlight and so on. When the focus is clear, let the person stay where he is, change the auto focus mode to manual focus mode, and turn on the overhead flash that comes with the camera. At this time, press the shutter to shoot a clear and gorgeous backlit portrait.
