[Edit this paragraph] Introduction to the plot

The Tin Drum is a history of personal resistance with Rembrandt-style field scenery, typical German streets and noisy families as the background.

When Grandma Anna was unmarried, a young man named Joseph got into her big skirt to escape capture and became Oscar's grandfather. Mother Agne and her cousin Bronsky are deeply in love, but because close relatives can't get married, she has to marry businessman Alfred to make a living. Oscar was born a perverted child with different ideas from ordinary people. He didn't want to leave his mother's womb when he was born, and he planned to be mainly anti-mother. However, at this moment, his mother gave him a promise to give him an iron bucket on his third birthday, and he decided to come into this world. But who his real father is, maybe only his mother Agnes knows.

On Oscar's third birthday, his mother gave him an iron bucket as a gift, and he hung it happily all day. Playing under the table, he discovered the affair between Uncle Bronsky and his mother. He felt that the adult world was full of evil and hypocrisy, and he decided not to grow up. He jumped down from the upstairs on purpose, and as a result, he really stopped growing taller and stayed at the height of three years old. Once, dad grabbed his drum and he screamed loudly. As a result, he found that his screams could shatter the glass, and he never dared to scratch his drum again.

After Hitler came to power, his father joined the Nazi Party. My mother still often trysts with my uncle. When she found out that she was pregnant, she ate fish endlessly and died of overdose. Shortly after my mother died, my uncle was also killed by the Nazis. Grandma brought back a maid Maria. Oscar and her father both took possession of her body and gave birth to a child. Oscar thought the child was his, but Maria became her "mother" and the child became her "brother". 1945, Soviet troops captured Danzig and his father was killed. He buried his father and the drum that accompanied him for 20 years. His child accidentally hit him on the head with a stone. Only then did I discover that Oscar was growing again.
