What tools do you need to learn to draw?

Sketch is indeed the basis of watercolor and comics. As a beginner, the basic tools you need to prepare are: pencil, signature pen, colored pencil, eraser, paper and so on.

1, pencil

Pencil is the most basic drawing tool with different hardness. Generally, "2b" and "HB" at the end of a pencil refer to the hardness of the pencil. B refers to the English word Black. The larger the number before b (for example, 2B, 4B), the darker the color of pencil lead, and the softer the texture.

H refers to hardness. Similarly, the bigger the number in front, the harder the refill and the lighter the color. So we get that the hardness of the refill is 6B, 5B, 4B, 3B, 2B, b, HB, h, 2H, 3H, 4H, 5H and 6H from soft to hard. It is enough for us to draw with HB or 2B pencils.

2. Signature pens and stylus pens

Signature pen is a gel pen (also called fountain pen) that we will use in our daily life. It is not only convenient to use, but also can be used by changing the refill at any time. The pen tip thickness of a signature pen is roughly 0.25mm, 0.38mm, 0.5mm and1.0mm. However, the signature pen has an obvious disadvantage that it is prone to ink spots when writing, which leads to insufficient detail in drawing.

Needle pen is more suitable for drawing than signature pen. Needle tube pens are divided into steel needle tubes and fiber tubes. The steel needle tube can be refilled, and the fiber tube is basically disposable. Needle pens are relatively more professional, so the tip thickness is also very thin, basically between 0. 13mm and 2.00 mm, so beginners should prepare fine, medium and thick.

3. Markers and watercolors

Most markers have a flat trapezoidal head. The reason for this arrangement is that it is convenient to draw lines with different thicknesses. In our daily life, the most common marker is actually a marker with two ends, one is what we call a flat head and the other is a round head. At the same time, markers can be divided into oily markers and water-based markers.

An oily marker is also an alcohol marker, which is what we call a marker. It can write on the surface of anything and keep it for a long time. Because it contains alcohol, it dries quickly. Another point is that the painted color can be wiped off with alcohol on a smooth surface. Water-based markers are mostly used for painting on paper, which can create the feeling of color collision.

Watercolor pens are basically round heads. Compared with watercolor pens, watercolor pens are full of water, with thin tips and bright colors. Most watercolor pens on the market are sold in sets.

4. colored pencils

The colored pens we often use are basically insoluble in water. Colored pencils can be divided into dry, oily and water-soluble. Water-soluble colored pencils can be used with watercolor pens or markers, which can make the connection of colors more harmonious and create a smudged watercolor effect.

For beginners, it is suggested that you can choose soft pencils with 24 colors and 36 colors for practice.

5. Eraser

The most direct way to tell whether an eraser is good or bad is: the simpler the eraser, the easier it is to use. On the contrary, those colorful and exaggerated erasers are not easy to use A really useful eraser is one that is easy to clean and has less debris.

6. Paper

copy paper

The paper we usually use to print and copy documents is copy paper. The advantage of this paper is its low price, so we use this paper to make a draft.

Sketch paper

Sketch paper is characterized by uneven texture. Different brands of sketch paper will have different textures, so the lead effect on it will give people different feelings. If you want to make your pencil drawing look more natural and realistic, you can choose rough sketch paper. If you want to depict fine, you can choose paper with less obvious texture.

watercolour paper

Watercolor paper, as its name implies, is a paper specially used for watercolor painting. Because it is used in watercolor painting, its water absorption is very good, and its paper thickness is also one of its characteristics, so this paper can be used repeatedly in painting. Because this kind of paper is more expensive, it is not used in other types of paintings.

Extended data:

Painting is the art of copying nature by hand on a two-dimensional plane. In medieval Europe, people often called painting "the art of monkeys", because just as monkeys like to imitate human activities, painting also imitates scenes. Before the 20th century, the more realistic the painting, the higher the technology.

But after entering the 20th century, with the appearance and development of photography technology, painting began to turn to the direction of expressing the painter's subjective self. When a connoisseur sees a painting, he sometimes can't tell what it is, but he can definitely tell who painted it. Every painter began to form his own unique style. Different painters have different styles and different artistic values.

Oil painting and watercolor painting are the most famous painting categories in western culture and art, with rich and complex traditions in style and subject matter. In the East, black and colorful ink painting dominates the choice of painting media, but it has a rich and complex tradition in style and theme as in the West.
