What are the fun places in Xiangyang?
As the saying goes, Xiangyang is a battleground for military strategists. I believe that Xiangyang is a place that all of us Chinese have heard of to some extent. After all, it is the birthplace of Chu culture and Han culture. Xiangyang is one of the cities with the most potential for development in Hubei. In addition to the famous scenic spots such as Gulongzhong, where else can we go? Friends who don’t know should read carefully. The editor will give Introduce everyone one by one.
Xiangyang Ancient City Wall Moat
The moat here is quite wide and connects to the Xiangyang Park side. To cross the other side, you often need to use a ferry. Xiangyang was a fortified city in history. It could not be captured for a long time during a war and was very difficult to attack. It is because there is such a wide moat. According to historical records, the Mongols fought here for several years. Looking at it now, the scenery is quite beautiful. When you have nothing to do during the day, you can take a walk along the river. At night, the night view is beautiful.
The ancient city wall and moat of Xiangyang. Xiangyang is a strategic location and a battleground for military strategists. The river is very clear and the moat is relatively wide. If you are in Xiangyang, it is a must-visit location. The ancient city wall and moat are relatively well preserved, and a section of the moat is part of Xiangyang Park. The water quality of the entire river is also well maintained, and the riverside is a good place for citizens to relax.
Xiangyang Museum
Xiangyang Museum
It is located in the south of Xiangyang City, in the center of the ancient city of Xiangyang. The Xiangyang Museum is under Zhaoming Terrace, and the entrance is in the city gate cave. But to get tickets, you have to go to the south side of Zhaoming Terrace, and you need one person, one vote and one ID card. The design is a bit unreasonable. When entering the museum, you must deposit your bag before entering through security check. The museum takes the history of Xiangyang as the main line, introducing the story of the hinterland of Jingzhou during the Three Kingdoms period, as well as the scenes of fighting against the Mongol invasion in the Southern Song Dynasty.
The museum went downstairs to the other side of the doorway, and had to go back to the entrance to pick up bags. The service did not take the tourists' feelings into consideration. Under Zhaoming Terrace, not far from the entrance of the stage, there is a booth where you can get tickets. There is a place on the first floor where you can store your belongings, which is quite convenient. If you go in, there are about three floors, which are all history museums here. It mainly displays some historical things and talks about the style of ancient times.
Xijiachi
Xijiachi is located at the southern foot of Fenghuang Mountain (Baima Mountain) about five kilometers south of Xiangyang City, Hubei Province. It was established during the Jianwu Period of the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25-56). The ticket costs 5 yuan. It is a very exquisite country park built on the mountain, far away from the hustle and bustle. It has been renovated on the basis of ancient buildings. The flowers, plants and trees are lush and well-proportioned. With the embellishment of the buildings, the scenery changes as you move, which is quite interesting. Presumably you can also appreciate different exquisiteness in spring, summer, autumn and winter. We went there during the Qingming Festival holiday, and the drizzle fell on the quiet mountains, making the garden more graceful. Looking forward to coming back in the summer.
For transportation, take bus No. 1 from the train station, transfer to No. 505 at People’s Square, get off at Qiaowan Station and walk there. The country park is built on the mountain, far away from the hustle and bustle. It is renovated on the basis of ancient buildings. The flowers, plants and trees are lush and well-proportioned. With the embellishment of the buildings, the scenery changes as you move, which is quite interesting. Presumably you can also appreciate different exquisiteness in spring, summer, autumn and winter. The scenic spot is open for free and there are not many tourists. There are very few restrooms in the hotel and you have to walk a long way to get there.
No entrance fee is required for Xijiachi. It is one of the earliest existing garden buildings in China. It is one of the few famous Han Dynasty gardens in the country and is known as "the first suburban garden in China". In spring, it is very worthwhile to go for an outing with friends, bringing picnic mats, etc. The scenery is very nice and there are many trees. Choose a time to visit when the sun is bright and have a picnic under the trees. I believe you will all like it. Such a feeling!
Madam City
In the northwest corner of Xiangyang City, it is an outer city closely connected with Xiangyang City. The tour lasts about half a day, the ticket costs 5 yuan, and the scenic spot is open all day. Madam City commemorates Madam Han during the Eastern Jin Dynasty. She was named to commemorate her contribution to the fight against the former Qin army. Nowadays, the scenic spot of Madame City is on the Xiangyang City Wall. After going up the city wall, you can reach Madame City at the end of the northwest corner.
There is a pavilion in Madam City with a stone statue of an ancient woman inside. The ancient lady's city is about 300 meters away from the entrance of the ancient city wall. Standing in Madam City, you can clearly see the Han River and Han River Bridge, as well as the ancient city of Xiangyang. Madam City and the ancient city wall are not big, and half an hour is more than enough for a tour. It is very comfortable to go up to Lady City to watch the sunset and watch the Han River.
Zhongxuan Tower
Zhongxuan Tower is located on the city wall in the southeast corner of Xiangyang City. It commemorates Wang Can, a poet who was one of the Seven Sons of Jian'an in the late Eastern Han Dynasty (who was fond of the history of the Three Kingdoms and the literature of the Wei and Jin Dynasties). people must know). Because Wang Can's courtesy name was Zhongxuan, it was named "Zhongxuan Tower".
Historical records show that Zhongxuan Tower was rebuilt in both the Ming and Qing dynasties, but was later destroyed by war. The current Zhongxuan Building was rebuilt by the Xiangyang Municipal Government on the original site in 1993. Since then, it has become a landscape in Xiangyang.
People who like photography often take photos nearby. Zhongxuan Tower is particularly beautiful and photogenic in the early morning and dusk. I have never been inside the building in so many years, and I don’t know what’s inside.
I heard that a tea room opened there for a while, but I don’t know if it is still open now. It would be very pleasant to sit on the city wall and enjoy tea while admiring the scenery of the ancient city.
Although Zhongxuan Tower, along with Yellow Crane Tower, Qingchuan Pavilion and Yueyang Tower, are known as the "Four Famous Towers in Chutian", its publicity, management, tourism development and other aspects are far behind the latter three.
The resources of Zhongxuan Building have not been well utilized, and the overall situation is slightly depressed, which is a waste of this good place closely related to history and literature. If you walk over in the morning, the view will be pretty good, but it should be more beautiful at night.
Zhaoming Terrace
Zhaoming Terrace is located on the south side of Xiangyang City, in the center of Xiangyang Ancient City. Zhaoming Terrace is located upstairs in Xiangyang Museum. You can climb up to Zhaoming Terrace when visiting the museum. Zhaoming Terrace was originally the Bell and Drum Tower and has a history of more than a thousand years.
The current Zhaoming Terrace was rebuilt according to the historical original. Climbing up Zhaoming Terrace, you can clearly see the old part of Xiangyang Ancient City and the Xiangyang City Wall, but it seems that you are not allowed to enter the Zhaoming Terrace pavilion. Zhaoming Terrace is now the symbol of Xiangyang City.
The above are the more interesting places in Xiangyang that we can go to besides Gulongzhong. Take a few notes and let’s go!
