Nanchang Bayi Square is located in donghu district, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. It is the largest city central square in Jiangxi province and an important historical memorial.

There are many famous scenic spots around Bayi Square, including Bayi Park, Baihuazhou, Ruziting Park, the former site of Xiang Jun Education Group, the former site of Zhu De, the former site of the New Fourth Army, Nanchang University and Nanchang poly theatre.

Bayi Square was originally formed in the urban reconstruction in the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928). At that time, the Hue Gate was demolished, the moat was filled, and the ring road (now Bayi Avenue) was built, thus forming the embryonic form of the square. 1956, the people's government officially named the square People's Square in the urban construction project and expanded it, thus establishing the position of the square as the city center.

The front of the tower is engraved with the inscription "Introduction to Nanchang Uprising on August 1st", and there are relief figures reflecting the armed uprising on the east, south and west sides. On the front of the tower, the bronze tire of "August 1st Nanchang Uprising Memorial Tower" is gilded. The top of the tower consists of an upright giant Hanyang rifle and an August 1st military flag.
