Historical changes of Tiefo Temple

Among the mountains around Tiefo Temple, there are temples in the mountains, each with its own characteristics. In the fifth year of the Republic of China (19 16), the "red light religion" at the junction of Sichuan and Shaanxi gathered in the temple. In the 11th year of the Republic of China (1922), when the government troops wiped out the "Hongguang Sect", all the temples on the mountain were set on fire, leaving only the Tiefo Temple. Because from southern Shaanxi to Sichuan, people burn incense and worship Buddha all year round. Monks in the temple fast and recite Buddha, and the sound travels thousands of miles. Before liberation, from January to March every year, "Shang" and "Zhong" meetings were held, led by local gentry, and the surrounding eminent monks were invited to set up an altar to recite scriptures for the elderly for three to five to ten days. On May 13, a holy martial arts meeting (commonly known as the one-knife meeting) was held. Paoge from all over the country gathered in Tiefo Temple to hold a promotion, collect brothers and accept celebrities from far and near to attend the ceremony. After the founding of New China, all the monks in the temple were secularized. 1966 At the beginning of the Cultural Revolution, the Iron Buddha was smashed by the rebels with two steel hammers, and the temple was also destroyed. There are still some fragments left in the iron Buddha. From 65438 to 0986, Huang Xiang, a photographer and member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Yu Shao, a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the China Artists Association, commented that "this craft belongs to the culture of the prosperous Tang Dynasty and is rare in China". Unfortunately, it was destroyed.
