How to use the soft box?

The soft box in the studio is like a big box, which can shine on one side and cover the rest. The luminous part is covered with translucent material that diffuses light, so the light emitted is very soft. The contrast between light and shade of the object illuminated by it is also the weakest, and the projected edge is also the softest. Soft light boxes have various sizes, and the larger the size, the more obvious the soft light effect. In addition to lighting, another purpose of the soft box is to form a beautiful reflective effect on the surface of a totally reflective metal object. Content light sources can be roughly divided into two types according to their properties: natural light, artificial light and ambient light. Our flash equipment is imported from Switzerland, an international brand-Ai Linglong, with a soft box to protect children's eyes. 1) luminosity, the intensity of light emitted by the light source, the illuminance of light on the surface of the object and the brightness of the surface of the object. 2) Light level: front light, front light, side light, back light, back light, top light and corner light. 3) light quality: the convergence and divergence of light determine the hardness. The difference between point light source and area light source is soft light, and artificial light source refers to soft light with soft box; Hard light, artificial light source refers to the direct light source without soft box called hard light. 4) Lighting types: main light, auxiliary light, decorative light (night light, eyes), side light, background light and simulated light (some kind of spotlight). 5) Light ratio: the light difference between the bright part and the dark part of the main body. 6) Color of light: composition, wavelength and color of light (refers to color temperature). A soft box is like a big box, which can shine on one side and cover the rest. The honeycomb cover consists of many small tubes arranged in parallel, which is similar to a condenser cover, but the light emitted is softer than that of a spotlight, and the beam diameter is much larger. Honeycomb hood lamps are generally used for effect light. In addition, there are light control tools such as beam tube, loose-leaf shading baffle, soft umbrella, reflective umbrella, soft light diffuser and optical fiber lighting line. Their lighting effects are different and their usage methods are different, which requires photographers to analyze, appreciate and master their performances in practice. This is very important for advertising photography, because photography itself is a painting of light. Many successful advertising photographers will temporarily make or modify some light control accessories of lamps to meet special requirements, thus creating special lighting effects. Accessories used in conjunction with various lamps and lanterns are also aspects that cannot be ignored. The function of the lamp holder is to fix the lamp and control and master the irradiation direction of the lamp. At present, there are two main types, ground support lamp holder and guide rail suspension lamp holder system. When arranging lights, the ground support lamp holder is flexible to use and can be placed anywhere in the studio at will. Generally, it can be adjusted to a height of about 3m. If equipped with a hanger bracket, it can even be raised to more than 3.5m, and vertical lighting can be carried out from top to bottom. Moreover, the height of some footlights can be reduced to 0.25m, which can illuminate from bottom to top. When using the ground support lamp holder, be sure to pay attention to the weight of the lamp and bracket, otherwise the lamp cannot be fixed and adjusted. The disadvantage of floor lamp is that there are often too many lamps and cables dragged on the ground during use, which affects the movement of traffic and photographic equipment. Conclusion The hanging lamp rack on the guide rail in the studio can avoid the messy cables on the ground and will not hinder the movement of photographic equipment. Moreover, some large soft boxes must be fixed by hanging lamp holders on the guide rails. Although it is convenient and flexible to use, its moving range is limited by the length of the slide rail on the ceiling, so it is difficult to illuminate from bottom to top. Therefore, in the studio, there are generally both ground support lampholders and guide rail suspension lampholders, which are combined to make up for their respective limitations.
