How was Leica born?

The advent of the film is an epoch-making progress. Since then, the development of cameras has entered the stage of miniaturization.

19 14, German Oscar? After many experiments, 1879 ~ 1936 made two small all-metal cameras by hand. Known as the "prototype" of Leica, this camera weighs about 500 grams, which is small and exquisite and easy to carry. It is the first 35mm camera in the world. Barnah is honored as the father of 135 camera, because it was the first to take a 24×36 mm photo with standard 35 mm film.

In the following ten years, Leica's "prototype" was constantly improved and perfected. The first batch of six Leica cameras was manufactured in 1924, and was put into production and supplied to the market by Leeds the following year. This kind of camera is officially named Leica, which is greatly improved compared with the prototype. It is equipped with an elma lens consisting of five lenses, with an aperture of f3.5 and a focal length of 50 mm, and realizes the linkage between the upper shutter and the film feed. The shutter speed ranges from 1/20 seconds to 1/500 seconds.

The emergence of Leica enables photographers to take photos conveniently and quickly, laying the foundation for modern news photography.

However, after mass production of Leica 1925, it did not cause much repercussions. This is because the film at that time, the image resolution is low, and after the photo is enlarged, the particles appear very rough. This situation lasted for more than ten years until the quality of film emulsion was significantly improved.

In the 1920s, news photographers and other professional hand-held camera photographers mostly used a camera called Ermanox. This medium format camera is produced by ellman Workshop in Dresden in 1924, and the film size is 6.5×9 cm. It was equipped with an F/ 1.8 lens with the largest aperture in the world at that time. With this camera, you can take photos quickly by using the real-time light in the room.

"Ermano" camera once played a great role in the field of news photography. Later, due to the continuous improvement of film performance, this relatively bulky camera gradually faded out. Since then, people have chosen Leica as a shooting weapon and used it to take countless excellent news photos.
