How to shoot fireworks

Whether it is the National Day or a major festival, the fireworks and starry sky all over the sky complement each other and look very beautiful. Do you also want to take some photos about fireworks? I tried several times, and I don't know whether it was successful. Actually, shooting fireworks is not as difficult as you think. As long as you are familiar with the following 10 main skills, you may become a master of fireworks display.

1. Use a tripod

Maybe many people think that taking pictures with a digital camera doesn't pay much attention to the stability of the camera. No matter how dark the light is, use hand-held photography, or you will have to delete the remake. Digital cameras are very convenient, but they also cultivate many lazy and bad photography habits. Anyone familiar with photography knows that slight movement and shaking will affect the final imaging quality of the picture. Therefore, it is best to take a tripod with better quality, choose a good position and choose a good composition to shoot, in order to get the best results. It can also distinguish your work from thousands of popular photos in Qian Qian.

2. Remote control settings

The camera's viewfinder and viewfinder have certain limitations. Move the camera frequently when shooting, and sometimes it will be a bit hectic to shoot a scene before shooting. Many high-end and professional cameras adopt somatosensory shutter settings and dynamic remote shutter, which can capture the motion of objects best. Use the camera's own timing setting function or remote control function to shoot, set a range, and you can take the desired photos.

3. Composition of the lens

The hardest thing about shooting fireworks is that you can't know where the fireworks are rising and blooming, so it's very difficult to shoot. Pre-purchasing and pre-shooting are the means to take such photos.

When shooting fireworks, try to make the scenery and fireworks seamless. Only in this way can a work have depth and beauty. Therefore, before shooting, we should check and observe the range and position of the scene to find out the best shooting position and framing range. When composing a composition, don't let fireworks appear in the middle of the picture, so it is most important to consider the position of fireworks and scenery. Arrange whether the picture is horizontal or vertical, considering the shape of your theme and the artistic conception to be expressed.

Determine the horizontal line. In landscape photography, the skyline is particularly important. Fireworks occupy the sky or the lines in the picture should be reasonably matched with the skyline. Don't destroy the main body and pattern of the picture. Adjust the height and depth of field of the tripod properly and change the position of the skyline.

Vertical or horizontal-In all types of photographic works, there are two main ways to shoot composition, vertical (portrait) or horizontal (landscape). The application of two composition methods in fireworks photography, personally think that vertical perspective and effect can better express the movement and shape of fireworks. Of course, you can also apply the horizontal shooting method to more landscape shooting. From a broader perspective, if you want to catch more fireworks explosion moments.

4. Focal length

The right time, the right exposure and the right focal length are the key to the success or failure of shooting fireworks. Whether it is automatic focusing or manual focusing, it is necessary to set the focal length range in advance to achieve perfect performance. I like to use a zoom lens, which has the advantage that I can change the size of the picture at any time and choose whether to take a panoramic shot or a local snapshot.

5. Hole

A similar question is how much aperture to use when shooting fireworks. Many people think that you need a fast aperture to shoot. But in fact, the light emitted by fireworks is quite bright. I found that the aperture opening in the middle or in a relatively small range can be operated reasonably, and the commonly used aperture range is between f/8 and f/ 16.

6. Shutter speed

Shooting the rise and explosion of fireworks requires keeping the shutter open and using long exposure. To ensure continuous shutter, you must use some remote control or cable release. With this technology, you can shoot the rise, explosion and movement of fireworks, and the shutter is opened for a long time (usually a few seconds).

Long exposure can shoot one or more groups of combined fireworks. Note, however, that it is difficult to grasp the color of the picture under dark background and bright light, which is often either dim or too bright and warm. The only solution is to do more shooting and accumulate experience and keep the exposure time at a suitable scale. Or regional exposure, or point-controlled exposure, or local multi-layer exposure, using your own photographic knowledge and increasing your photographic skills is the best way to take good photos.

7. International Organization for Standardization

Low ISO shooting is more likely to ensure the clearest picture. However, compared with ISO 100, we can generally get good results.

8. Use your flash

When shooting fireworks, the flash will not have much influence on your shooting. All we do is cheat your camera to get a short exposure time. Remember that the flash of your camera is only a few meters away. Even if they flash, the fireworks will not be brighter. When shooting fireworks, the flash only plays the role of properly compensating the diffused light in the area and making the picture clearer.

9. Manual mode shooting

My shooting experience tells me that using manual exposure and manual focus shooting can achieve the best results. In low brightness and brightness environment, autofocus will be very difficult, which also makes you miss many good scenery shots. During the fireworks display, you will find it difficult to focus after using a small aperture range to get the depth of field in such an environment. So you have to remember that changing the focal length will mean that you need to adjust the visual range of the lens. In order to get a clear image, manually preset the definition within a suitable range, which can save you the trouble of focusing.

10. Experiment and topic selection

In the early stage of fireworks display, we can try to take a few experimental photos quickly, sort out and summarize the shooting results, make a preliminary judgment on the environment, light, people flow and the direction of fireworks, record the information well, and choose the shooting theme for the later stage of fine shooting.

Try to shoot a wider perspective, outline and people around you. Aim your camera at the sky, and maybe you can take some wonderful fireworks photos you want. But sometimes if you look around you and different interesting and vivid scenes, you can get unexpected shooting results. Most excellent photographers don't just shoot a single subject, they often study more elements than fireworks-people, buildings, landmarks or broader urban landscapes. Only by fully mastering this information can they take the best photos.

Skills and tricks of shooting fireworks;

"Find the direction of the wind-the wind sometimes plays an important role in shooting fireworks. Put your finger in your mouth and hold it over your head, and you can find the wind direction and speed. Adjust your shooting appropriately. "

"Choosing a lens in the focus range and setting it to infinity can get clearer photos and easier framing."

"The advantage of a digital camera is that it can take pictures at any time at' zero cost', from which you can get the information of post-shooting, which is the secret of a successful photographer."

"Ready to launch your first fireworks. Because of the environment, effective lighting and human factors, the first fireworks are often the clearest and the best shooting conditions. Seize the opportunity and don't let go of your first time. "

"Multiple exposure-you can shoot a theme scene before shooting, and then press the lock button to try multiple exposure after the fireworks are launched, so that you can get a wonderful moment when a scene and multiple fireworks are together."

"Lock focus, the lock focus function in professional cameras is very useful when shooting fireworks. You don't have to give up most of the most beautiful explosion moments for repeated focusing. After taking the first picture, lock the focus in the allowed range. In the later work, just take a photo and press the shutter. "
