Camera protection skills
Don't expose the camera to high temperature.
I'm afraid this point will be highlighted in the product manual, and everyone should pay special attention. Avoid placing the pilot in a high temperature environment for a long time, such as an unmanned vehicle in summer, which may cause the plastic part on the fuselage to melt because of the heat.
Tie the camera strap to the camera.
Have you ever dropped your camera? No one can avoid whether our hands will slip or hold unsteadily during shooting. We should fasten the camera strap and get used to winding it around our arms when shooting, so as to rule out the possibility of the camera falling directly to the ground. In other words, the quality of the camera strap itself should be guaranteed, and the basic load bearing is needless to say. If the suture is not delicate and firm enough, it is also a terrible thing to break your back. The binding method of the bandage should be correct, so as to truly play the protective function of the bandage!
Don't confuse the waterproof of monocular camera with that of diving camera.
For some high-end monocular cameras, or cameras like Pentax, it will be emphasized that they have good "environmental tightness" and can be waterproof and dustproof, but the waterproof mentioned here is not the same as the waterproof of diving cameras. The "waterproof" of monocular camera is mainly aimed at the defense of raindrop-level water. It is allowed to be wet caused by some climatic or human factors during use. It does not mean that throwing the whole camera into the water will be fine, but it can also be in a humid environment for a long time.
It is still necessary to protect the camera from moisture. Keeping it in moistureproof box at ordinary times is the foundation. When the fuselage is damp, you can dry it with deerskin or fiber cloth as soon as possible, and don't replace the lens until the lens and lens connector are completely dry.
Avoid rapid conversion of camera bare metal in an environment with excessive temperature difference.
Walking from a very cold place to a warm place, or entering an air-conditioned room from an extremely hot place outside, is not only easy to make people sick, but also not good for the camera itself, because thermal expansion and contraction may affect the original parts or batteries in the camera. But in the case of "bare metal", the image is relatively large. Generally, if it is placed in a camera bag for space conversion, the rapid temperature difference will mainly cause thermal expansion and cold contraction of the bag, and the camera can alleviate the direct impact on the camera.
Protect the lens with a UV mirror.
On the one hand, installing a UV mirror can reduce the imaging of ultraviolet light scattered in the air on the photosensitive element, on the other hand, it can protect the lens from being scratched and dirty, and also reduce the possibility of the lens entering dust. Even if it is knocked down, it can also play a buffering role and protect the lens from salt erosion when shooting at the seaside.
Don't change the lens in windy conditions.
The action of changing the lens itself has the risk of dust, and improper operation will also have dust problems. Doing so in windy conditions will increase the possibility of dust, especially in dusty environments, such as beaches, deserts or roads with poor air quality. Therefore, if you can meet such environmental conditions, try to avoid changing the lens. Or want to take pictures in such a place, or choose a zoom lens to match, eliminating the action of changing lenses.
Change the lens to be "low-key"
As mentioned above, changing the lens is a very careful action, which will not only bring the risk of dust, but also make you smash the camera or lens if you miss it. In order to reduce the damage caused by this situation, we suggest that you change it in a "low" place. To put it bluntly, don't hold the camera too high to change the lens, but try to put it on the table, on the ground or even in the camera bag. If the lens or camera accidentally falls,
Don't point the camera at the sun for too long when using LiveView.
Although when shooting at the sun, using LiveView preview can protect your eyes better than using optical viewfinder, it is not good for the camera. Generally, when shooting with the observation window, the light emitted by the lens will not directly hit the photosensitive element, but will be reflected in the optical observation window through the reflector and pentaprism. However, when shooting with Liveview, the mirror will be locked, and the light will directly hit the photosensitive element, so as to get a dynamic preview on Liveview.
Of course, there will be no problem if the sun rushes directly to the photosensitive element for a second or two, but the longer the exposure time, the more likely it is to cause long-term damage, and at the same time, it is possible to burn the shutter curtain. Therefore, if you really want to use LiveView "hunting day", the sooner you shoot, the better.
Please turn off the power of the camera before replacing the lens again.
I don't know if there are any photographers who like to "hot swap" lenses, that is, when changing lenses, the camera power is still on. If so, you may need to change this habit a little. I suggest you turn off the power supply of the fuselage before changing the lens, otherwise changing the lens while the photosensitive original is still charging will increase the risk of dust. You can get into the habit of turning off the power before changing the lens and restarting the camera after changing it. You can also turn on the cleaning function of the photosensitive element to ensure the cleanliness of the photosensitive element.
When the camera is not used for a long time, please take out the battery.
Even when the camera is turned off, the battery in the camera will still consume some electricity by itself, which will easily shorten the life of the battery.
Find a good camera bag for your photographic equipment.
At home, it is best to put photographic equipment in the moistureproof box, so it is not easy to get wet. If you don't have moistureproof box, you can also buy a hard-shell storage box and make it with desiccant. When you go out to take pictures, you should choose a suitable camera bag, whether it is a shoulder bag or a shoulder bag, as long as the capacity is appropriate and the back is comfortable, but if you want to fly, you may have to consider the size of the bag a little.
Never check your camera.
No matter how confident you are about the protective function of the suitcase, please don't experiment with the camera. When flying, please carry your camera, lens, filter and flash on your back and take it with you to make an airplane cabin! As for tripods, cables, chargers and other devices that are not easy to break, they can be wrapped in clothes and checked in the trunk.
Clean the camera often.
The maintenance and cleaning of camera is a very important link, including the cleaning of photosensitive elements and lenses. , you can choose to use some cleaning groups on the market and handle them at home. For cleaning knowledge, please refer to the following articles "Cleaning of photosensitive elements" and "Maintenance of lenses". A diligent friend may get into the habit of cleaning every time he gets off the plane and have a check-up before he gets off the plane next time.
Clean the camera, don't forget to clean the camera bag.
Clean the camera, but if the camera bag is dirty, I'm afraid the camera will also be dirty. Just how to clean the camera bag? Throw it in the washing machine? Once again, I suggest that you use a vacuum cleaner to clean the inside of the camera bag, take out all the equipment, suck up the dust and scraps of paper in the bag, and then put the equipment back. As for the cleaning frequency, please refer to the mode of cleaning once a month.
If it is a windy place, on the one hand, it is recommended to choose a waterproof camera bag with good sealing, so as to prevent sand from blowing into the bag more effectively and clean it once a night.
Pay attention to and update the camera firmware regularly.
Camera manufacturers often update camera firmware from time to time, fix possible minor problems, or enhance certain functions. Everyone should pay regular attention to the information about camera official website, check their camera firmware updates, and follow up immediately. It's better to observe it for a few days or check the information first, and then update it with peace of mind after ensuring that there are no bugs in the new version of firmware.
