How to breed peony (detailed explanation of matters needing attention in peony breeding)
I. Soil
Planting peony must choose loose, breathable and well-drained soil. It is suggested to choose humus soil with sandy loam as the main soil, and some broken tiles can be placed under it, so that the soil can better discharge excess water and effectively avoid water accumulation in the basin soil. In addition, it needs to be replaced every two years, and the best time is in autumn. When changing pots, the excessively long roots should be trimmed properly, and peony can also be propagated by ramets.
Second, the temperature
The optimum temperature for peony growth is 65438 05 ~ 20℃. It likes warmer environment and sunshine, so it can be placed in a bright place. Shading must be done well in summer, otherwise the leaves may get sunburned.
Third, water and fertilizer management
The growth of peony likes humid environment. After buying seedlings, you should trim them first, then plant them in flowerpots and water them once, but there should be no water at the bottom of the pots. When the soil is dry, water it again. Because peony is afraid of waterlogging, don't water it too much at a time, or the roots will rot easily. You don't need much fertilizer. After applying base fertilizer, it should be given a long-term farmyard manure every season except in winter. In addition, the flowers should be properly fertilized before and after flowering, so that the flowers can be more beautiful.
Fourth, pruning
If you want wild peonies to grow well, you need to prune them regularly. Pay attention to pruning some weak branches and branches infected with pests and diseases in autumn and winter, and pay attention to pruning too long branches in spring and summer.
Five, change the basin
There are many wild peony flowers in potted plants, and the flowerpots need to be replaced with the growth of plants. Generally speaking, after growing for 3-4 years, a larger flowerpot needs to be replaced in autumn.
