In the information age, great changes have taken place in people's lifestyles. Changes in lifestyle will inevitably lead to changes in life behavior and the use of utensils. Industrial design should start with these changing problems and carry out creative design and development to meet people's living needs. Therefore, sensitivity to problems is the ability that every industrial designer must have. Industrial design education needs to cultivate this kind of "problem" consciousness: the ability to find problems, the ability to put forward problems, the ability to analyze problems, the ability to study problems and the ability to solve problems, which is a design attitude. Before you can say that you have "learned" anything, you must go through a process of acquiring knowledge from your own experience and others' experiences and making it a part of your way of thinking and acting. This process includes developing an understanding of the formal meaning of information, rethinking previous beliefs based on new information, and building new viewpoints. Problem consciousness is the innate instinct of human beings, and problem consciousness and problem ability can be said to be the basis of innovation consciousness and innovation ability. If there is no problem, creation will stop. According to the teaching philosophy of the Institute of Industrial Design, the Institute emphasizes instilling "problem consciousness" in the process of implementing the teaching plan. As an industrial design education run by a comprehensive art college, the pursuit of concept innovation, modeling style and fashion design is an obvious feature, but the motivation of introducing design is "problem" rather than form, and form is only an interface to solve the problem.
