Peru’s Rainbow Mountains are located in the Andes Mountains in the Cusco region. At over 16,404 feet above sea level, it’s not a climb for the faint of heart—but boy, will it reward you. Rainbow Mountain, also known as the "Seven Color Mountain", has stripes of yellow, green, purple, brown and red. The colorful stripes have formed naturally over thousands of years due to the process of melting ice mixing with minerals in the soil. As the ice melts, the minerals take on vibrant colors, with rust minerals turning red, iron sulfide minerals turning yellow, and goethite turning purple. It's a visual feast.
Havasu Falls is one of the most colorful destinations in the United States. Located within the Grand Canyon, the waterfall has an incredible turquoise color that contrasts stunningly with the contrasting red rocks of the canyon. The falls are located on the land of the Havasupai Indians who have lived there for centuries.
Another South American favorite is the incredible Ca?o Cristales, a Colombian river in Serranha de la Macarena. The river is also known as the "Five Color River" because the water is composed of red, black, blue, green and yellow. For many, Cano Cristales is Colombia's most spectacular natural wonder. The red color in the water is produced by a plant called Macarenia Clavigera that grows in the riverbed. The river's other colors come from green algae, yellow sand and black rocks. From July to November, the river becomes colorful when the Macarenia Clavigera is in bloom.
Provence in southern France is famous for its stunning lavender fields, whose purple hues are immediately apparent. Lavender blooms from June to August in parts of Provence, such as Luberon, Mont-Ventoux, Sault and Valréas. Rent a bike and explore the stunning purple fields.

Wuhua Lake is a stunning body of water located in Jiuzhaigou National Park in China. The lake is made up of several different colors, including yellow, emerald green, and turquoise. The lake is unusual in that there is always water present, whereas surrounding lakes often dry up during summer droughts. This, combined with its unusually colored waters, led locals to believe that Wuhua Lake had special powers. However, science shows that the water contains calcium carbonate and colorful aquatic plants, which cause the color of the water to change. Still, it's a completely magical sight.

Bacteria living in the water are responsible for the unusual color formation. The swimming pool is a truly stunning sight, be sure to add it to your USA bucket list!
