Principle of sound image formation

For stereo playback system, when an instrument (or a group of instruments) or a singer (or a group of singers) sounds in a certain position, people can feel its clear positioning and shape on the sound stage through the experience of the sound texture and density of the playback system.

The concept of imaging includes two aspects: position (orientation, distance) and shape. The concept of space positioning is just a space point with azimuth and distance; Together with the shape of the instrument, it constitutes a complete concept of "knot image", that is, the tangible sound emitted from this space point.

In HI-FI playback, the basic requirement of "imaging" is to achieve stable and clear imaging. Can't swim, can't diverge, can't blur. These "three noes" are the basic requirements and the minimum program. A good image should be three-dimensional and dense, not empty, scattered and "fragmented".

A solid, stable and clear picture can make the listener seem to "see" the performer (singer). Weak, hairy, divergent and "isolated" knots are not the case. Although you can see the performers (singers), you can't seem to see them clearly. This is a bit like the difference between a well-focused photo and a poorly focused photo in photography.
