General situation of Changchun University for the Aged

Changchun University for the Aged was founded in 1986, formerly known as Changchun University for Retired Veterans, and renamed Changchun University for the Aged in 1996. The university is located in the center of Changchun-the north side of Cultural Square, adjacent to Rain Garden with pleasant scenery, with superior geographical location, classical architecture, garden-like style and beautiful and elegant environment.

The university teaching building covers an area of 5,000 square meters, and there are 17 specialized classrooms for computer, vocal music, electronic organ, guzheng, digital piano, dance, body building, painting and calligraphy, cooking, etc. Through continuous matching and improvement, the existing teaching equipment and facilities have reached the advanced level of similar schools in sub-provincial cities nationwide.

The university enrolls students for the elderly in the whole city, and now offers more than 34 classes in calligraphy, Chinese painting, music, dance, health care, sports, photography and fashion 100. The school regularly edits and publishes the school newspaper and journal. There are student organizations such as painting and calligraphy research associations and poetry clubs, as well as party schools of veteran cadres and university art troupes. Since 2003, universities for the aged have been established in 10 counties (cities) one after another, realizing the coverage of universities for the aged in the whole county (city), and 12 community schools for the aged have been established in Chaoyang District. At present, there are more than 6,000 students (including branch students), and more than 20,000 people have graduated from 1 1 class.
