A Review of Beautiful China

I found this documentary on my classmate's computer. At that time, my classmate wanted me to recommend it. I watched it with trepidation, and the result really shocked me! ! Because this is the most beautiful documentary I have ever seen in China! ! ! Its English name is Wild China, and its official Chinese translation was finally named Beautiful China. The film is a series of documentaries about wildlife and natural scenery in China, which is jointly produced by the world-renowned British BBC natural history production team and the main film producer CCTV Media. It is also the first cooperation between BBC and China TV.

Beautiful China is divided into six episodes: rich South China, south of colorful clouds, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the Great Wall, the dragon's territory and the noisy coast. This documentary with an investment of 5 million pounds (75 million yuan in total) continues the concept of BBC Wild Series, but expands its perspective to the relationship between man and animals and man and nature. Mr John Shi, CEO of BBC Universal Pictures, said, "We are proud to introduce this magnificent series to audiences all over the world. All the shots are taken in HD. " Here, I chose its second episode, the one that filmed Yunnan, and told me about the beautiful animals and plants in China and the people living there. The name of the movie is also called Shangri-La.

Yunnan's unique climate and geographical environment make it home to a wide variety of wild animals, which is the first condition to choose it. According to the climate, there are tropical, subtropical and temperate animals, as well as frigid animals. According to the types of vegetation, there are alpine forests and meadows, valleys and plains, forming a strange phenomenon of animals in cold and warm zones, and the intersection of animal species in the east, west, north and south. It is known as the "kingdom of animals and plants", but it is world-famous.

The film shows Dai ceremonies and festivals in turn, interspersed with fragments of Buddha statues and Dai women fetching water, and then some percussion music from actual sounds. What we appreciate here is the close-up of the foot, which is found in many places in the film. The next clip is a little fast. There is a segment where some bird's eyes cut the Buddha's eyes, which connects the ceremony with the outside world. Similarly, it was cut into peacock feathers and elephant eyes. Then, bring it into the cheerful Songkran Festival with very brisk percussion. Crystal water drops and happy people make up the picture, people splash water to play, and light and beautiful music makes people feel comfortable and happy. There is a very special picture in which a person wearing PLA clothes is splashed with water, and it is a simple and honest smirk. The national emblem on the hat reminds me whether the film still has political propaganda color. After all, this is a movie that is broadcast all over the world, and there must be elements of China. However, this is still very subtle, and the subtle infiltration is easy to accept.

When introducing the geographical environment, I used the earth instead of the map I had seen before. This is realistic. This part of the mountain is very atmospheric, and the floating clouds like water vapor on it increase the sense of movement, which makes the landscape I didn't understand "live" and feel like a fairyland. Clouds and water vapor are used many times in the film.

Before the golden monkey appeared, there was a scene of snowflakes dancing. Close-ups hanging on trees are very delicate, which is common in the north. I don't know how to find it in Yunnan. The golden monkey is also very cute. You can look at the PK of the French. The close-up of several heads feels that the monkey's expression seems to be very melancholy. "After the snow, the monkeys began to eat." Although the explanation is like this, I always feel that a season has changed, at least the snow has disappeared. The film introduces in detail that its food is half-bacterial and half-plant lichen. This film is full of biological knowledge and semi-science.

When introducing China red panda, it was still a cute little animal, and there was nothing too brilliant. The close-ups of some plants behind (focusing on flowers) are not bad, such as that beautiful blue flower with a small insect crawling around; Flowers as white as jade, complete pistils, are very delicate. There is a historical information and introduction (black and white) about plant hunters in the middle. There is a gap in this painting. It may be used because of the need of narrative clues. Although it is a precious historical material, it is not very popular and does not coordinate with the overall feeling.

Crossing the Nujiang Gorge with ropes makes people feel a different way of life. Even the traffic is so special. With music, people will feel very scared, and those who play rope will fall. I can't help but admire the creativity and courage of the local people when I look at the intrepid ropes and people on them.

The azaleas bloom brilliantly, but what attracts people is the birds there, watching them suck the honey in the flowers and make clever movements.

Music and pictures give people a suspense, so what kind of animals will appear next? The local shooting incident made me mistakenly think that something huge would appear. This is a red-bellied pheasant. This passage is worth reading. A male pheasant pursues a female pheasant in a unique voyeuristic way, just like a positive and negative editing method. It's really funny to see the bright meat of the pheasant hanging down and shaking, accompanied by the unique sound made by the flapping of its wings. Editing is very skillful, so it creates suspense like a puzzle.

A mouth, head, body and tail slowly emerged from the loose soil. It was an amphibian crocodile lizard. You can even see its nostrils in close-ups. Similarly, when a plant comes out of the soil, bamboo grows rapidly in an instant, which is done by camera frame-by-frame photography (or time-lapse photography). The scene is not big, but it has a shocking effect. Who would have thought that little bamboo grew so fast?

Bamboo bat is a very small animal, only the size of a bee. It lives in the cave of bamboo, the smallest mammal in the world. Need to film the cave life of bamboo bats, BBC staff used their own cameras to reach into narrow caves and captured the pictures of bats living in caves. This home-made camera is actually made of closed-circuit night vision system which can be seen everywhere in Britain. There is a shot of a small bat opening its mouth, which shows the inside of its mouth, and its teeth and tongue are fresh and visible.

The shot of bats flying at night is very beautiful. It should be taken with infrared rays, which can capture the texture of small bats. When they shuttle through the hole, they can see their small mouths and heads, and even their bones and meat. The small bats flying in the bamboo forest and the quiet music at that time constituted that quiet night, and the bamboo bats fluttered and danced. A crisis suddenly appeared on such a night. That's a snake. It wants to eat a bat. On one side is an ignorant bat, and on the other side is a slowly approaching snake. Coupled with music, the atmosphere is very tense. But the most important thing is that because the hole is too small, the snake didn't succeed and had to crawl. This is a close-up of the snake head taken out of the hole. I really don't know how to accept it. "When shooting bamboo bats, Zhu (the snake) was close at hand, which scared the photographer out of breath." After reading this material, I realized that they are still very dangerous, and there should be some hardships we don't know about. Documentary people are not easy.

Tell people about its benefits with bamboo as a thread, and then there will be an animal-bamboo rat. Watching the good bamboo being dragged underground, I saw the protagonist, an animal that feeds on bamboo and has a good sense of smell. How to shoot so clearly is a mystery to me. I didn't know what incredible was until I saw it. Similarly, only the branches are moving, and I don't know what animal is pulling. Now it's the turn of wild Asian elephants. Before watching this movie, I didn't know there were elephants in China.

There is also a unique method of catching bees, which is very skillful, but in the end it all ends with people robbing the hive and then eating the larvae. Another way is that the man eats like a treasure and is really angry. Should we show the cruelty of eating animals? This is harmony between China and foreign countries. Although it's true, don't take it from point to area. Why not come to a place where we protect small animals?

In the scene where taro blooms, the commentary explains the smell that we can't see from the picture, and some of it is taken with a thermal camera, which shows the rise of flower temperature with cold and warm colors, showing the unique side of this forest witch. She pollinates with buried insects, and you can see that the stamens release golden pollen. This is really a wonderful plant. Exquisite and meticulous pictures are very representative. The version I saw was not the highest. I heard that the high-end version of the picture is "Unique Beauty".

Wild gibbons are also introduced later. They are famous musicians, and there is a picture of a little monkey that is only one day old. I heard that it is precious, which means it is rare. It's the rubber forest, so I won't say much here. I just appreciate the beauty of this painting. Finally, some elephants came out again and left after seeing the tourists. Seeing the elephant struggling in the water, it suddenly occurred to me that there was no thick ice to support it ashore at the end of White Planet, the same technique, the same theme, and the helplessness revealed in this rare species. This explanation is also evidence: the mountain is still full of green, confused and simple for the time being. Under the sky, there may be the richest natural treasure in China, which is incomparably fragile. Under the fog, animals and plants are closely connected with human beings and a complex world.

Generally speaking, this film is the best documentary about China that I have ever seen, no matter the perspective, photography or soundtrack! Some scenes of wild animals and scenery have never appeared on the screen. The perspective is peaceful, basically true, objective and fair; Photography technology is top-notch, needless to say. The overall feeling is completely Chinese style, magnificent, exquisite and integrated with the background.

There are so many wild animals and so many beautiful places in China. You must go and see them when you have the chance. The picture of this film is comparable to that of photography. I believe that after the global screening, more people will know about our beautiful China.

I hope everyone can go and see it, and then love our great rivers and mountains more. I understand how painful it was for the ancients to see great rivers and mountains when they perished. Let's cherish our lovely motherland!
