The World Photojournalism Competition (WPP) is sponsored by the Netherlands-based World Photojournalism Foundation. Founded in 1955, the association held the first world photojournalism competition in 1957, which was initiated in the Netherlands, so it is also called the Netherlands, and is considered as the most authoritative event in the international professional photojournalism competition.
