How to set parameters when shooting with a camera?
First, how to set the color space:
1. What is a color space? Color space, also known as color gamut space, represents the range of colors that color images can express. There are three color spaces commonly used in photography: ProPhotoRGB Adobe RGB sRGB. The following figure is a schematic diagram of the size of several common color spaces. As can be seen from the figure, ProPhotoRGB has the largest space, followed by Adobe RGB, and sRGB is the smallest.
2. The main differences between 2.Adobe RGB and sRGB color spaces.
The first is that the development time is different from that of developers. SRGB color space is a standard red, green and blue jointly developed by Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft in 1997, and their products occupy a high share in the market. AdobeRGB color space is a color space standard introduced by Adobe Company 1998, which is famous for developing Photoshop software in the United States. It has a wide color space and a good color hierarchy.
AdobeRGB has a wider range of colors, 35% more than sRGB, and richer photos, including all the colors of SRGB. However, when we upload photos in AdobeRGB format directly to the default color space of the website, we will find that the photos become very dark and have no bright feeling as seen in the camera. This is because almost all Internet, games, applications and monitors use sRGB as the color space standard, and all colors of AdobeRGB cannot be displayed completely. Traditional monitors can only display about 97% sRGB color space and about 76% AdobeRGB color space. That's why the above phenomenon occurs.
If our works are completely used in the network or general equipment, we will use sRGB, but if there is a need for printing or output, sRGB will lose a wider range of colors, and your works will lose some potential color expressions. At present, all printers on the market can read the color space of AdobeRGB, which means that photos taken with AdobeRGB will have richer colors and levels than photos taken with sRGB.
Please note that when we choose a color space, AdobeRGB can be easily converted to sRGB, but if we choose sRGB, when we want to convert to AdobeRGB, sorry, sRGB can't be accurately converted back to AdobeRGB.
3. Set a reasonable color space according to different shooting needs.
How to choose color space? According to the different ways of using photos, if the photos are basically not post-processed and pursue fast and efficient, and most of them are used for network communication, you can set the camera color mode to sRGB and the photo style to neutral color or bright color. SRGB can save you a lot of trouble in the later period and ensure that your photos have beautiful performance on the Internet.
However, if there is an output demand, we need to pursue high-quality images and good color expression, so we should establish the awareness of paying equal attention to the early stage and the late stage, and provide enough space for the post-production when shooting in the early stage. At this time, it is necessary to set the camera color mode to AdobeRGB, and then use photoshop to process photos, and finally get high-quality works. Only when we need to publish photos on the network will there be one more program, that is, we need to convert AdobeRGB into sRGB.
4. Late color control
When dealing with photos in photoshop, try to use Rrophoto RGB or Adobe RGB, and try not to use sRGB.
After photo processing, the color space of the photo should be converted into SRGB, and the printing use should be converted into Adobe RGB.
Second, the camera settings:
1, take photos in RAW format.
RAW is an unprocessed and compressed format, and RAW is "original image coded data" or more vividly called "digital negative". The full name of RAW format is RAWImage FormatRAW.
Different cameras have different RAW names: Canon: CR2, Nikon: NEF and Sony: RAW.
Although the RAW file is attached with marking information such as saturation and contrast, its real image data has not changed. Users can freely make personalized adjustments to a picture without having to base on one or two preset modes.
Advantages of RAW format: First, it can be converted into 16-bit images. That is to say, there are 65536 levels that can be adjusted, which is a great advantage for JPG files. This is very important when editing images, especially when you need to make important adjustments to shadow areas or highlight areas. Second, the RAW file has no white balance setting, and the color temperature and white balance can be adjusted at will without loss of image quality. Third, ProPhotoRGB with the largest color space of RAW format photos.
3. Set the photo style to neutral.
4. Try to shoot with low sensitivity when taking pictures.
Why use low sensitivity?
The picture quality is good. Generally, the sensitivity below 400 is fine and pure, and the sensitivity below 1600 of the new camera is acceptable. There will be noise if it exceeds 3200.
5. My suggestion: Take photos with RAW+JPG, and set the color space to sRGB.
