What are the famous scenic spots in Cyprus? What are the traditional dishes in Cyprus?
Paphos is a mythical Gulf city with a long history in Cyprus, located in the southwest of the host country. Welcome to the place where Aphrodite appeared. In 12 BC, Mycenae built a temple for her. Therefore, a big bay city in southwest Cyprus has always been called "Cupid Resort".
The seaside of Paphos is rugged and steep, with a group of clumsy giant rocks, some like stalactites that break through the sea level, and some like huge mushroom standing in the water. The big one is about 30 meters wide. This group of big stones is called "Romeo", which means "rock" in the original Greek. Cupid Avelot Dite rose in the sea foam around here, so those big rocks are also called "Cupid Rock".
Cape grieco, grieco Point
Cape greco is a Cypriot national park with many natural caves and wonderful rocks. The scenic spot is located between Ainapa and Budalas, the sea surface is clear and green, and the nearby rocks are very suitable for cliff jumping. The scenery here is charming and it is a popular destination for wedding photography. Two natural stone bridges stand tall, showing the appearance of soft stone after years of abrasion on the sea surface.
Ayina pa
Ainapa is famous for its long and magnificent waters. Its water is famous not only in Cyprus, but also in the whole Europe and Mediterranean. On the beach, soft white gravel and clear sea water blend together, which is memorable. Come here to feel the unique charm of the Mediterranean, I don't think everyone is easy to get cold feet.
What are the traditional dishes in Cyprus? "Seftalia" is a common food on the table in Cyprus, similar to meatballs made of dumpling stuffing, onions and vegetables, and usually baked with Souvlak (MIx).
I don't need to order the usual set meal at the labyrinth restaurant in Cyprus. The chef will serve the food according to the total number of fresh ingredients of the day, and the number will be reduced by more samples. Vegetarian dishes (mushrooms, eggplant, pepper and cheese-Halloumi), charcoal barbecue (raw pork and chicken), roast lamb chops and potato chips will be set up. Some restaurants also have rabbit meat.
Souvlaki is a kind of Cyprus charcoal barbecue. It's best to string fat and thin raw pork or chicken and bake them on charcoal fire. After baking, sprinkle with dried wheat beans (vegetables in the picture), add vinegar and a little green lemon. Some restaurants in Cyprus can provide take-away food delivery, cut pita cake (a kind of cake), put it on charcoal fire, cut it into small pieces of raw tomatoes, cucumbers and shredded cabbage, and wrap it for sale.
"Halloumi" is a unique cheese in Cyprus, which is generally made of goat milk powder. The general cooking method is frying or frying, which can be eaten alone or in pita cake (cake) with tomatoes. Cypriots are used to eating Halumi with red wine.
"Horiatikisalad" is a common vegetable and fruit salad in Cyprus, which consists of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, onions, feta (a Greek cheese) and pickled olives. Generally, it is eaten with edible olive oil, apple vinegar and salt.
Cyprus's "Cypruspotatoes" French fries, because of the long sunshine time in Cyprus, have high corn starch content here, and the hot fried French fries are golden in color, which melts in the mouth and is a bit sweet.
Souvla is very important for family gatherings in Cyprus. Meat can be raw pork, chicken and beef. On the first day, marinate with red wine, spices and salt for one night. Roast with charcoal fire 1 hour or more to two hours the next day. Sprinkle the seasoning when you take it out. The meat soaked in red wine is tender, and with the fragrance of spices, it is delicious.
"OftoKleftiko" is my favorite Cypriot specialty food in summer. It is only available in restaurants in summer, and it often appears on family tables during festivals and parties. Spread edible olive oil evenly on beef, sprinkle cinnamon powder and coriander powder, sprinkle ginger on meat, and bake it in an electric oven for 2.5 hours (locals usually bake it in a special kiln).
Moussaka is a home-cooked dish in Cyprus. Add a small amount of edible olive oil and stir-fry dumpling stuffing and onion (10- 15 minutes), add salt, white pepper and tomatoes and stir-fry evenly (stew for another 20 minutes). Slice the long eggplant and potatoes and fry them in a pan until golden brown. Grease the bottom of the baking tray, cover the bottom with long eggplant and potatoes (spread the long eggplant first), put a layer of fried pork sauce, then put vegetables and a layer of pork sauce. Finally, pour the milk, wheat flour and whipped cream on it, and sprinkle 3-4 tablespoons of chopped cheese and chopped cardamom on the wall. Bake in an electric oven (180C-200c) for 45-60 minutes.
Gemista, which means filled with vegetables in Greek, originated in Greece and is an increasingly popular vegetarian food in summer. Wash fresh cantaloupes or tomatoes or peppers and hollow them out, leaving the top of the vegetables (like a cup). Stir-fry a little edible olive oil and onion in the pan, add raw rice, add salt, white pepper, a little mint powder and dried blueberries, then pour in the tomatoes dug before and mix well (5 minutes). Just stuff the rice into the dish for 3/4 (you can't spread it, raw rice must be expanded), put the stuffed dish in a baking tray, and then add some potatoes cut into small pieces to the baking tray. Pour the remaining oil and tomato juice from the bottom pot into the baking tray (no extra water is needed), preheat the oven (180c), and bake the baking tray in the oven for about 1 hour for 30 minutes.
