Yu Deshui photography

China Workers Publishing House once published a set of China Photographers Series, in which photographers are documentary photographers. The common feature of their works is documentary, which is usually shot in black and white film, which (almost) does not interfere with the subject, but captures the most natural and authentic side of the subject through snapshots. If we want to talk about the characteristics of each photographer, we can only talk about their different shooting subjects. Here is a brief introduction to some photographers I am familiar with and the characteristics of their works:

1) Li Lang. This series is famous for shooting Liangshan Yi people. It was published by Photographer, edited by Taiwan Province Ruan, and went overseas, enjoying a certain reputation internationally. Li Lang also won the American Jones Mother Award. The Yi people photographed by Li Lang have their own beauty and dignity despite the difficult living conditions. I like this series very much.

2) Hou Dengke. The late famous photographer. The representative work is Mike (another Shaanxi photographer, Hu Wugong, also photographed Mike). Hou Dengke's "Mike" is full of emotion and dedication. He followed them for a long time, moving with them, climbing the train, eating and living together, and became a member of Mike completely. This way of shooting makes him deeply integrated into Mike's life, so he can shoot so many pictures that fully reveal Mike's life. After Hou Dengke died, his friends set up the "Hou Dengke Documentary Photography Award" to commemorate him. The award is awarded every two years to reward newcomers who have made their mark in documentary photography.

3) Yu Deshui. Hou Dengke's good friend, Henan photographer, mainly shoots the countryside and folk customs in Henan and Shaanxi, and has an epic feeling for the yellow land.

④ Peng. It is famous for shooting homeless people, such as children who buy flowers, wandering circuses, caravans and so on.

5) Yang Yankang. He has photographed leprosy villages, Catholicism and so on. He is also an active photographer for many years.

6) Wang Zheng. Famous for filming his hometown of Xihaigu.

7) Liu Lei. It is famous for taking environmental portraits of the Loess Plateau.

8) Zhou Hai. He is famous for photographing industries and workers in China.

Wait a minute.

In recent years, some young documentary photographers have appeared. These photographers are no longer limited to shooting with black and white film, but use color film, Horga and even digital. These photographers are also winners in major photography festivals, including Yan Ming, Zhang Xiao, Angle Luo, Mu Ge and Li Feng.

The above are just some brief clues, hoping to play a role in attracting jade. If you want to know more information, welcome Baidu.
