In the later stage of mobile phone, it is very simple and easy to teach you several steps to bring up Japanese film photos.

IT 168 Evaluation Nowadays, social activities through the Internet have become the living habits of contemporary young people. Not to mention the popularity of pure social apps such as Weibo, WeChat, Momo, and Exploration, the trend of nationwide live broadcast is also sweeping the entire youth population. In this big environment, I wonder if you have found a phenomenon. In the circle of WeChat friends, there are always people who will send some delicious food, beautiful scenery or some very literary photos. But you are familiar with what they eat and where they go, but the photos you take are not as "tasteful" as others?

In fact, there is not much difference between you and them in real life. Everyone's salary after graduation is basically 3,000 to 4,000 yuan, and everyone likes to eat roadside stalls when they come home from work at night. No one is much better than anyone else. But the point is that people can "pretend" and you can't! So go out for a party trip and pay more attention to the photos taken later. This is the key to whether you can "catch people's eyes" in the circle of friends. In this article, Bian Xiao will share the simplest post-color-matching skills, and use mobile phones to adjust photos to Japanese film style. The tool we use later is VSCO, which can be used by both Android and Apple phones.

Japanese-style photos have a characteristic, that is, the picture is fresh, the color is relatively uniform, and the photos will be slightly overexposed, making people look clean and comfortable at first glance. When it comes to movies, it is natural to leave the label of "retro", which is also the label that pseudo-Wen Qing people are most keen to label themselves. Therefore, replacing photos with Japanese films can effectively improve the quality of the photos themselves.

Then I thought:

Select the appropriate filter. A filter is actually like a formula. For beginners, they may not find the problems in the photos at first, and determine the ideas in the later period, so directly applying the filter is the simplest and rudest way.

2. Increase the exposure appropriately. As we mentioned before, Japanese photos will feel a little overexposed. This can improve the purity of photos and make people whiter.

3. Reduce the contrast appropriately. Contrast can be understood as the ratio of the whitest and darkest degree of light and dark parts in a photo. The greater the contrast, the stronger the black-and-white contrast in the photo. Japanese photos pursue gentle and comfortable colors, and cannot have too bright colors to steal the mirror.

4. Reduce the saturation appropriately. The higher the saturation, the stronger the color performance of the photo. In addition, reducing saturation can create a sense of fading, which is a common element in retro photos.

5. increase sharpening. After sharpening, the lines in the photo can be clearer and the clarity can be improved.

6. Use fade-in and fade-out and particles appropriately to polish the film sense of photos.

Let's take a look at the actual operation steps through an example.

▲ Schematic diagram of comparison before and after color matching

Step 1: Select the E5 filter that comes with VSCO.

After choosing E5 filter, we found that the overall style of photos has obviously tended to be more retro film style. However, the backlight part of the characters in the photo is black, and there is a big difference between light and shade, which needs constant adjustment.

Step 2: Increase the exposure and decrease the contrast.

After increasing exposure compensation and reducing contrast, we found that the photos were really smaller, fresher and more Japanese-style. But the problem that followed also appeared, that is, the whole picture was obviously white.

Step 3: Increase saturation and sharpness.

To solve the problem of whitening, I can increase some saturation, which can make the color of the picture brighter. There is a problem to be explained here. In the late thinking of the opening, I mentioned that the general Japanese film style photos need to reduce saturation, but why did I increase saturation here? In fact, the E5 filter itself obviously reduces the saturation of the photo. After our later optimization, we need to restore some saturation according to local conditions.

Finally, the sharpened photos are basically completed. If you want to create the effect of old photos, you can also add some fading and particles. I put the original film here, so you can compare it.

▲ Original film (page compressed photos, it is recommended to check the comparison of the original picture).

▲ Post-production photos (photos are compressed on the page, and it is recommended to compare the original images).

Summary:

In fact, due to the different content and color of each photo, the specific parameters that need to be adjusted later will be different. But for photos with the same style, you can determine the general idea of the later period. When you are proficient, you will usually see the following steps in your mind when you see a photo, so you still need to work hard. Welcome to follow my Sina Weibo @ A Liang dll. I will often share my later experience and some shooting skills.
