Chronology of Dachuan Lin Art

1929 graduated from Beiping Wenzhi Middle School and entered Fu Jen Catholic University (Catholic Academic Affairs Office) in Beiping in the same year. 1930 was admitted to Hangzhou Institute of National Arts (President Lin Fengmian, classmates Hu Shanyu, Lu Hongji, Xiao Chuanjiu, etc. ).

Under the influence of Hu Shanyu and other students studying in France, he decided to study in Japan. In September of the same year, I went abroad alone on the Japanese passenger ship Nagasaki Maru from Shanghai.

In the same year, I studied Japanese at Tokyo East Asia Preparatory School, and tutored charcoal sketch at Kawabata Yasunari Painting School in the evening. During my stay in Japan, my father remitted money to me from Canada as my study and living expenses.

1934 was admitted to Imperial Art School and enrolled in Chuanduan Painting School.

In the same year, in order to complete his studies at Tokyo Academy of Fine Arts, he was introduced by his father-in-law's good friend Wen (executive director of the Overseas Chinese Association) and entered the Yokohama Chinese Club. 1943 completed his studies in sculpture and oil painting in September, and graduated from Tokyo Fine Arts School, Japan.

The work was published in Japanese art magazine and printed as a color postcard. To this end, overseas Chinese in Yokohama gathered in Wanzhen Building, a Chinese restaurant in Nanjing Street, to celebrate and take photos as a souvenir. 1950 was awarded the honorary titles of "unsupervised" and "as instructed" by Japanese art circles. ("Unsupervised", the works sent to the painter need not pass the examination, and "as instructed" means to participate as a invited painter in each exhibition).

In May of the same year, he held his first solo exhibition at Ginza Gallery in Tokyo. More than 40 paintings of landscapes, still lives and portraits were exhibited. And some works have been collected and published in albums.

The exhibition was planned and assisted by the China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and an invitation letter was written.
