Volunteer Introduction:

Beaver is supported by the federal and provincial governments The Elderly English Teaching Project is committed to providing free English teaching to Chinese immigrant elders through intergenerational communication between teenagers and elders

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Working with elders with no basic knowledge 1-1 communication

Listen carefully to the needs of the elderly and communicate

Teach daily spoken English

Share interesting stories about life in Canada

Volunteer Requirements:

Fluent communication skills in both Chinese and English

Responsible, patient, and excellent teamwork skills

Volunteer introduction:

The group needs at least 2 volunteers every week to help push wheelchairs, escort residents to the event site, and set up the movie in advance. The volunteers will be there after the movie Returning residents to their rooms, sponsoring organization Lakeshore Lodge will provide guidance and training

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Helping residents successfully watch movies

Improving care homes Quality of life of residents

Escort residents who use various mobility devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.)
