Post-scene structure

Lead: At present, in most cameras, the photosensitive elements are rectangular in shape. This allows people to choose between horizontal and vertical when taking pictures. It must be a decisive and conscious trade-off process to transfer the frameless nature to the framed photos. Different trade-offs can make photos have completely different meanings.

What factors will affect our creation? This is the origin of this article. I am going to discuss some common composition methods of high aspect ratio frames, and talk about the advantages of different aspect ratios with examples. Although frames are ubiquitous in visual arts, they have other special meanings in landscape photography.

1: 1 square format

Square format can usually be used to simplify the center of images and frames and make the theme more vivid. Keep the width and height equal, you can see the photos more intuitively, and don't need too much eye movement. Composition in square format can break our habit of looking at pictures from left to right or from right to left, and this aspect ratio will be more prominent in accommodating the position of the horizon in the picture and creating the central theme of the picture.

This square format not only emphasizes the theme, eliminates all kinds of interference factors, but also makes the whole scene reach a balanced state. When you appreciate the works of other photographers, you will often see those with 1 composition, which often emphasize minimalism or depict beautiful scenery with curves.

Square frames not only stand out? There is a mountain behind the mountain? The level of the picture can also vividly show the individual's superior exquisite mind, so that the picture is produced? How can I tell through these clouds? ? This artistic conception has the philosophies of Buddhism and Taoism.

4.3- Set the aspect ratio of the screen.

By default, the format of this frame is the aspect ratio captured by three-quarters of the sensor camera. The width of the image is greater than the height, which will give people a habit of looking at the picture, that is to say, the eyes naturally have to move from left to right to see the picture.

This ratio can better guide the reader's eyes to find the point of interest in the picture through the foreground. Use a wide-angle lens to capture the details of a wider scene. 4:3 format can also be used as a guide line to capture the foreground details of close-ups to attract readers' attention and interest.

6:4-35 MM format (also known as 3:2)

This is the default aspect ratio of 35 mm film, so it is mostly used for Quan Huafu and images taken by cameras using APS-C sensors. This ratio is very extensive in the choice of composition. Diagonal and trichotomy are very suitable for this ratio, which can exclude some worthless picture elements and let the world outside the boundary be abandoned, resulting in a new picture world, an independent and complete new system.

The biggest disadvantage of this frame ratio is that it is difficult to highlight the foreground when shooting with a wide-angle lens, because this ratio is not as good as a square frame in vertical space. However, it is very suitable for large-scale scenes without showing the foreground.

16:9 Widescreen Panorama

Widescreen panoramas like this are getting more and more attention. At present, many micro-cameras have directly added this aspect ratio to the internal settings of the fuselage, and the photos taken are directly according to a specific proportion of film, which has not been cut, which also provided us with great convenience. Of course, there is no denying that this wide-screen panorama also has outstanding effects in performance. Taking the width of the image as the leading factor may also make readers feel bored because they are not wide enough visually, but if used properly, the wide-screen panorama can also present a feast of visual enjoyment.

Widescreen panorama can also continue to be compressed. Usually, this panoramic scale will be used to present the effect of stitching two or more images together. This overwhelming visual frame ratio strengthens the modeling power of horizontal lines, which is especially suitable for expressing landscapes. The extension of the horizontal picture frame often emphasizes the vastness of the scenery, which is conducive to performance? The sky is wild, and the wind and grass are moving to see cattle and sheep? Unrestrained feelings.

? Portrait? model

Portrait composition basically has this composition mode in the current SLR or micro-single. In fact, this composition mode is specially set for portrait shooting, but we might as well apply it to other subjects, especially landscape photography.

In landscape photography, no matter what proportion of frontal frame you choose, the final effect is to make the whole picture achieve a balanced effect and give people the best visual enjoyment. Sometimes in order to get the depth of the picture, we will choose some wider rectangles, such as 4:3, 7:6 or 5:4. The most suitable 5:4 is widely used in professional landscape photography, but please remember that what is said here is a popular saying, which means to draw a picture vertically.

The above is to discuss a series of frame ratios with different aspect ratios. This is not appropriate when choosing a picture for a landscape movie. These aspects will make up for some composition deficiencies in your previous shooting. You should consider these factors before pressing the shutter. Of course, not all the scenery can give us the best shooting angle. You can refer to these suggestions in your later composition.
