The purpose of vertical racket handle

Vertical handle is a professional accessory of SLR camera, which is used to enhance the stability when shooting vertically. It is usually placed at the bottom of the camera and fixed with screws. There is a shutter button on the handle, and an AA battery or lithium battery pack (battery box) is usually installed in it to enhance the battery life of the camera.

Compared with traditional consumer digital cameras, the biggest advantage of digital SLR is its excellent imaging quality and expansibility. In addition to changing different lenses to obtain different shooting abilities, the common accessories of digital SLR include vertical racket handle, external flash, UV mirror, polarizer, cable, tripod, camera bag, exposure meter and so on. Most digital SLR cameras have only one shutter button, which is located at the top of the fuselage and can be easily operated when composing horizontally. But once the vertical composition is needed, the action of pressing the shutter with the right hand will become less natural. For consumer digital cameras, the impact is not very prominent because of their small size and light weight, but for digital SLR, in some demanding occasions (such as news interviews, sports photography, etc. ), this "unnatural shutter feel" defect will be magnified, which may affect the shooting stability. The solution is to design a vertical shutter button at the bottom of the digital SLR, so that it can be used in vertical composition even if the camera rotates 90 degrees.

The normal "press" shutter mode ensures a good feel. This kind of camera accessory, which is installed at the bottom of the camera and has built-in operation buttons such as vertical shutter button to increase the grip performance, is called vertical handle, sometimes called vertical handle or multifunctional battery box.
