What are the secrets of improving photography skills?

Actually, this question is not easy to answer. If there is any secret, it is actually to read the instructions of the camera carefully for ten times and eight times.

Below I just want to share with you my photographic experience for so many years, or my photographic feelings.

As we all know, the basis of all photography begins with the operation of the camera. Many friends have this feeling. They buy high-end cameras, but they can't take high-quality photos, even worse than mobile phones!

Why is this happening? The answer is that you are not familiar with your camera. Only when you are familiar with all the functions and operation methods of the camera can you deal with the subject and even the changing shooting environment when shooting, and know what effect you want to shoot and how to set it to achieve the effect you want to shoot.

For example, if we want to shoot a newborn child, the indoor light is dim, so many people naturally use flash to fill the light. When shooting a child, it is best not to use a flash to avoid hurting the child's eyes. If you are very familiar with the various functions of the camera, you will shoot a large aperture, or improve the ISO touch to increase the shutter speed and achieve the desired shooting effect. In fact, flashlights are not allowed in many exhibitions and some occasions.

Be familiar with the instructions of the camera and operate the machine skillfully, then shoot more and practice more. Pay attention to observation and recording. For example, what aperture and shutter speed did I use to take this picture this time? Is the effect satisfactory? If satisfied, I will continue to use this method in the next similar scene. If the shooting effect is not ideal, should I adjust the settings and shoot several times?

Look at the works of other photographers, especially some photographers, and see how they compose pictures in ordinary pictures and shoot unusual angles.

Personally, I feel that I have mastered the above two so-called "secrets" and I am very close to taking wonderful photos.

Looking forward to your masterpiece. (Text/Figure/Jiang Zhendong)
