What are the filters of SLR? What's the use?

There are many kinds of filters, but only six are commonly used. According to the desired effect, the desired effect can be achieved through simple collocation.

1, ultraviolet filter: that is, we often hear about the ultraviolet mirror, which can filter out the stray light in the sun and make the photos clearer. Digital cameras generally use CCD to sense light, and the wavelength of stray light in sunlight will not be accepted by CCD, so it is not obvious to use UV mirror. But why do so many digital camera users need to equip their favorite machines with UV mirrors? Because UV mirror is a transparent filter, we can use it to protect the lens from dust pollution and all kinds of possible scratches and bumps.

2. Polarizer: referred to as PL mirror, this kind of filter can effectively weaken or eliminate the reflection of non-metallic surface. Polarizers can be used for black-and-white and color photography. Adding a polarizer to color photography can darken the sky while still maintaining other original colors of the scene. In addition, the polarizer can effectively improve the color saturation and contrast, which is very useful in landscape photography, flower photography and shooting some specific scenes with strong reflection.

3, starlight mirror: this is a more interesting filter, simply put, it is a glass filter with a net shallow groove on the surface. The starlight mirror will soften the image slightly, and can turn the light source in the picture into many stars, creating a romantic and childlike artistic conception. The spectrum is also decomposed into a laser beam with a flickering central point ray image. There are many types of starlight mirrors according to the different starlight effects, such as four lights and six lights. Reasonable use of starlight glasses can certainly add a lot of color to your work, but improper use will make your work look impatient and tacky.

4. Soft lens: Sometimes, soft images can create an atmosphere and give people a sense of beauty more than clear images. Soft lens is suitable for portrait shooting and landscape shooting, which can inhibit and beautify the skin, wrinkles or facial defects of the elderly. Soft mirrors can bring you a soft and romantic atmosphere (such as wedding photos), and only allow you to gently interpret your theme.

5. Medium density mirror: Its function is to block part of the light, but it does not change the composition of the light. If the ISO value of your digital camera can't be changed, you just need to shoot in strong outdoor sunlight. Or you need to use a long exposure time under normal light conditions, then the medium density mirror is definitely your best choice. Using the medium-density mirror allows you to shoot the silky effect of trains flying and waterfalls with a slow shutter under strong light.

6. Color temperature filter: As the name implies, the most fundamental function of color temperature filter is to change color temperature, which can be divided into two types: reducing color temperature and increasing color temperature. Filters that lower the color temperature can enhance the warm color, reduce the blue tone of photos taken in rainy days or at noon, and make people's skin ruddy (such as stars in some large print advertisements). Filters that increase the color temperature can effectively reduce the scattered red and yellow tones at dusk and strengthen the blue tones. Generally, this color-changing filter uses A/B/C at the end of the model, where A is the weakest and C is the strongest.
