A glimpse of the scenery of Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village
Information:
Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is located at the foot of Leigong Mountain in the northeast of Leishan County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, 36 kilometers away from the county seat, 35 kilometers away from Kaili, the state capital of Qiandongnan Prefecture, and about 200 kilometers away from Guiyang, the provincial capital.
Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang is a place that preserves the cultural integrity of Miao's "primitive ecology", which is connected by more than 10 natural villages built by mountains. It is the largest Miao village in China and even in the world. It is a place to appreciate and understand the long history and development of Miao people in China. Xijiang's annual Miao Festival, New Year's Taste Festival and 13 Tibetan Festival are world-famous. Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is an open-air museum, which shows an epic of Miao development and becomes a stand for watching and studying Miao traditional culture.
Miao architecture in Qianhu Miao Village of Xijiang River is mainly wooden diaojiao building, which is a bucket structure leaning on the top of the mountain. It is divided into two types: flat diaojiao building and inclined diaojiao building, which are generally three-story, four-room, three-room or five-room structures. The ground floor is used for storing production tools, raising poultry and livestock, storing fertilizer or using it as a toilet. The second floor is used as living room, hall, bedroom and kitchen. There is a unique "beauty leaning" outside the hall, which is called "step rest" in Miao language. Mainly used for cooling, embroidery and rest, it is a major feature of Miao architecture. The third floor is mainly used to store food, feed and other production and living materials. Xijiang Miao people's diaojiao building originated from the southern ganlan building of ancient residents. It adopts multiple structural combinations such as rectangle, triangle and diamond to form a three-dimensional network system, which is harmonious and unified with the surrounding green mountains, green waters and pastoral scenery, bringing out the best in each other. It is a living fossil of ancient residential buildings in China. It has high aesthetic value in architecture and other aspects. Under the present situation of China with a large population and a small land, it is of positive educational significance to reflect the national psychology of Miao residents in cherishing and saving land. Shangliang's congratulatory speech and the song of Li Shi are full of Miao religious culture. It is an important carrier of Miao traditional culture.
In order to improve the village's geomantic conditions and facilitate residents' life, most Miao villages have built wind and rain bridges near the village, which are used to store gas and shelter from the wind and rain. There used to be a wind and rain wooden bridge in Xijiang River, mainly the Pingzhai Wind and Rain Bridge leading from Pingzhai to Ouga and the Nanshou Wind and Rain Bridge locking the whole Xijiang Dazhai Feng Shui in Nangui Village. Because it is a wooden structure, it has been repaired several times and was washed away by the flood. There are five wind and rain bridges built in Xijiang in 2008, namely, the arched cement wind and rain bridge connecting Dazhai and Xijiang Middle School, the arched cement wind and rain bridge on the main road 1, the arched cement wind and rain bridge connecting Yequezhai No.2 and No.4 opposite Dazhai, and the arched cement wind and rain bridge connecting Nangui. Because the previous wind and rain bridges were all wooden structures, they were easily washed away by floods. Now the wind and rain bridges are all mixed structures of cement and wood, which makes them
Every night, every household lights up. As the sky gets darker and darker, thousands of Miao villages in Xijiang have become a sea of lights, and you can see that Miao villages are in the shape of bulls' heads. In order to let tourists better enjoy the night view of Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang River, the scenic spot set up an observation deck on the roadside high on the hillside and opened the sightseeing bus.
Xijiang Miao nationality is an important part of Miao nationality in southeastern Guizhou, and now it mainly lives in the "Xi" ethnic group of Miao nationality. As the largest Miao village in the world, Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village has a profound Miao culture. Miao architecture, costumes, silverware, language, diet and traditional customs are not only typical, but also well preserved. Miao people in Xijiang used to wear robes and headscarves, all of which were black, so they were called "black Miao" or "long skirt Miao". Xijiang Miao language belongs to the northern sub-dialect of Miao language family of Sino-Tibetan language family. The characters used here are common Chinese. Although Chinese is an indispensable language tool for Xijiang Miao people to communicate with the outside world, the traditional Miao language is still used in language communication between Miao people. It is also one of the important Miao people and one of the important representatives of Qiandongnan.
Thousands of Miao villages in Xijiang have successively won the Feiyan Award and the Best Folk Culture Award for Rural Tourism in China, and have been awarded as "China 100 Most Beautiful Towns", "Top Ten Charming Scenic Spots in Guizhou", "Most Charming Ethnic Villages in Guizhou", "National 4A-level Scenic Tourist Area", "New Landmark of Cultural Tourism in China" and the most beautiful "Original Ecology" outdoor in the top ten tourist towns (villages).
