Introduction to Hamaba

Dams, as the name implies, have many "dams", and Toad Dam is one of them.

About Hamaba

Hamaba, with the original village style, is located in Huamugou forest area, Keshiketeng Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In the eyes of photographers, this is a photographic creation "treasure house" that never tires of taking pictures.

Hamaba is more than 20 kilometers away from Hongshan Army Racecourse. Along the oil road leading to Keqi, pass through the Burch Diqi Forest Farm, enter the country dirt road in the northwest direction, drive for about three or four kilometers, and slowly climb from low to high. A place dotted with elm, birch and other trees is Toad Dam.

No one can tell the origin of the name Toad Dam. North-south geographical situation, a ditch with two mountains, the bottom of a ditch can almost cross a small river in one step, clear and tortuous, is the water source of cattle and sheep (whether it is rich in toads, no one has verified). Under the hillside, in the ditch, dozens of thatched huts and newly-built red brick tile houses are scattered around the mountain. The chicken barks and the dog barks, and the smoke from the kitchen is curled up, which is very primitive and primitive.

The beauty of toad dam lies in the word "nature". The village is small and hidden in a ditch. If you don't stop, it's hard to find it even if you pass by the village. The slope is not steep, but the ravines are vertical and horizontal, with ups and downs. The top of the mountain is a birch tree, the hillside is an irregular terrace, the foothills are beautiful old elms in twos and threes, and the gaps between trees are cowpeas surrounded by round or rectangular sheepfolds and wooden fences. There is no unified planning, no deliberate arrangement, and no artist's guidance. Everything is so natural, and everything conforms to the aesthetic norms of patchwork, density and complement each other. Even beginners of photography don't have to worry about composition when they come to Hamaba, because the photographic elements here are so perfect. Just put the camera there and press the shutter, and it becomes a painting! No wonder people who have been here always feel that there is not enough film or complain that their digital cameras are not stored enough. Because of its unique geographical structure and humanistic environment, Hamaba is beautiful all year round, especially in autumn and winter. In autumn, the mountains are divided into five colors and the grains are fragrant. The toad dam, which was originally unpretentious, has now become a bride dressed up, standing radiant on the roadside and hillside of the village, welcoming visitors from all directions. In winter, the toad dam covered with snow and washed by lead looks like a quiet hermit. Once upon a time, he saw through the world of mortals and was as calm as water, as if he could purify his soul from a distance. The arrival of the photographer made the little-known toad dam famous all over the world; Hamaba's selfless gift has also won many photographers gold and silver awards in different film competitions at home and abroad. Some people even published a picture book for Hababa, named "Archives of a Northern Mountain Village", which recorded the life track and historical changes of a small northern mountain village in the tide of reform and opening up.
