Singers in the Republic of China were mostly poor children with bad karma when they were young.

At the age of eight, in order to make a living, Zhou Xiaohong worked as a maid in a song and dance class. This girl who does rough work every day and occasionally sings in her spare time never imagined that she would become the most popular singer in Shanghai and be remembered by people for a hundred years.

She never knows how much happiness and pain she will encounter when she grows up.

Because of her natural voice, 12-year-old Zhou Xiaohong was recommended to join the Yue Ming Society. A female pianist took her hand and walked into a three-story building on Changde Road-Shanghai Yue Ming Song and Dance Theatre Club.

The house of Yue Ming Club is not big. The first floor is a place for practice and rehearsal. Boys live on the second floor and girls live on the third floor. There are also two pavilions, namely, the pillar king of the drama club and the pavilion.

Zhou Xuan is the youngest and humblest member.

Zhou Xuan works harder than anyone. Whenever she was bullied by some members in the drama club, Yan Hua always stood up and helped her out like a big brother.

At Yue Ming Club, Zhou Xuan found the starting point of his life.

With the rise of the film industry in Shanghai in 1930s, the pillars of Yue Ming Society were all dug up to perform films, so the drama society could not continue to operate and had to be dissolved.

Zhou Xuan was very sad for two days when his friends packed their bags. If she can't make a living by singing, she will go back to the worst life and may even be sold to a brothel by her adoptive father. Yan Hua sympathized with the little girl. He said to her without thinking, "I won't leave you alone."

Yan Hua founded Xinhua Drama Club, which added strength to Zhou Xuan's singing career. 1936, Zhou Xuan became the "golden voice" of Shanghai. Yan Hua often accompanied her to the EMI "Little Red Chamber" in hengshan road. At that time, only the most popular singers could record there. And that year, Zhou Xuan 16 years old.

Zhou Xuan later recalled: "The boring days in recent years have gradually disappeared before my eyes. I feel a little wet in my heart and my life has settled down."

After Zhou Xuan and his foster mother moved to Yuyuan Road, they were busy filming for some time. We haven't seen Yan Hua for many days.

One day, Yan Hua suddenly said goodbye to her and said that she would travel to Nanyang. This trip will last for one year.

Zhou Xuan didn't say much at that time. When she left, she gave him a diary and took care of him. She can only read it after she gets on the boat. Yan Hua didn't open the diary she gave until she boarded the ship to Nanyang. Contains Zhou Xuan's endless love for him.

Originally, Yan Hua thought of Zhou Xuan, but the stronger Zhou Xuan thought that Yan Hua was taking care of himself and embarrassing himself in his career.

The baby they gave birth to shortly after their marriage was aborted because of Zhou Xuan's hard filming. This is the first big rift since they got married. From then on, Yan Hua was more prejudiced against Zhou Xuan's works.

During that time, Zhou Xuan often filmed late into the night, and the actors involved in filming sent Zhou Xuan home out of kindness. Those charming actors are all potential threats in Yan Hua's eyes, and jealousy makes him fidget. He often stands on the balcony waiting for her at night, staring at the street and standing for an hour without entering the house.

One night, in the dead of night, Yan Hua absently waited for his wife to come back, but heard her talking and laughing with a man downstairs. Yan Hua rushed downstairs with jealousy and angrily pinched the actor: Please don't "send Zhou Xuan!" "Hearing this, the other party was embarrassed and quickly turned away. Zhou and angrily went upstairs, and they quarreled in the room. She insisted that he apologize to the man; And he has become angry from embarrassment, which makes him even more mad. He just grabbed the vase and threw it at her ... once he became a devil in that man's eyes, he would never get back to his former light. This failed marriage became the cause of Zhou Xuan's mental illness many years later.

A few years after the divorce, Zhou Xuan met three more feelings: one died with a famous director; A Hong Kong profiteer cheated money and color; One is that she was seduced by a third-rate painter who was infatuated with her after she was admitted to a mental hospital.
