Jiayuguan has been the only place on the Silk Road since ancient times. Because of its dangerous terrain and strategic importance, Jiayuguan is known as "the gateway to the world" and "the key to the frontier". Connecting the desert Gobi, the owner of the western deficiency of the Great Wall of Wan Li, the end of the Ming Dynasty.
