Bridge shooting skills

Bridges are visually very beautiful buildings. There are many famous bridges in China, some of which are local or city symbols. Many photographers like to shoot the bridge, so how to choose the shooting position and shooting angle and how to run the shooting technique?

Overlooking the panorama from a height. This shooting method needs to choose the terrain and shooting point, preferably on the hillside or the top of the mountain at both ends of the bridge, so as to accommodate the panoramic view of the bridge and the scenery on both sides. When shooting panorama, zoom lens should be used because of the large depth of field.

Pat the whole body in the distance. In this shooting method, the horizontal line in the painting should be used for segmentation, the solid bridge should be placed above the horizontal line, and the reflection of the bridge in the water should be placed below the horizontal line. Because of the reflection, the picture will not be too monotonous, especially suitable for shooting bridges in horizontal and still waters such as lakes.

The bottom of one end of the bridge inclines upward. From this point of view, the bridge is inclined and becomes a guiding line running through the whole picture, similar to the composition of three-point line, which can effectively guide the audience to the scenery at the end of the bridge. At the near end of the picture, it is suitable to place objects such as piers, river beaches and river banks, so that the whole picture will not enter space. If the bridge is long, you should use a wide-angle lens.

Stand on the bridge deck and shoot forward. This shooting method generally puts the center line of the bridge deck in the center of the picture, which is symmetrical left and right, and forms a sense of depth from near to far according to the perspective effect. If there is no structure above the bridge, the picture will be boring. Therefore, when shooting forward on the bridge deck, you should squat down to reduce the shooting angle and let the bridge deck occupy most of the picture.

Stand on the bridge deck and shoot. Some bridges have cables or steel structures, and their structures are complex and exquisite. You can shoot from this angle, stand in the center of the bridge, shoot the morning and evening scenery against the light, or shoot the majestic posture of the bridge against the blue sky and white clouds at other times.

Use cars or pedestrians as foil to make the bridge look more lively. When shooting on the bridge, passing vehicles and pedestrians will affect the shooting, but through technical processing, these dynamic elements can also become elements of the picture. However, it should be noted that the vehicles and pedestrians in the lens should be blurred to make them become virtual shadows and increase the abstract beauty of the bridge itself.
