How to choose the background for taking pictures?

Photography is a visual art, and it is very important to express the relationship between picture elements and colors. Portrait photography is no exception, especially in dealing with the relationship between portrait and background, we must study it well. So when we shoot portraits, what are the relationships between portraits and backgrounds, and how should we deal with these relationships?

First: primary and secondary relations

Primary and secondary relations are the most important. When shooting, we should first consider this group of relationships. If our works, portraits and backgrounds are reversed, our works will definitely fail. Processing method: the proportion of people in the picture is large, the position of people is in the visual center, and the color of people is brighter than the background.

Second: the positive and negative spatial relationship.

The relationship between positive and negative space is the proportion of subject and blank space, and proper blank space also highlights the subject and leaves a rest place for the viewer's vision. Processing: face direction, leave more blank; Leave a little more white space on your head than on your feet.

Third: the relationship between distance and distance.

The distance relationship is a spatial relationship between portrait and background, which gives the background and portrait a certain space and makes the picture more breathable. Treatment: when shooting, increase the distance between the portrait and the background, or have objects isolated.

Fourth: the relationship between light and shade

The relationship between light and shade is to increase the contrast between the characters and the background, so as to make the master image of the picture more prominent.

Treatment: If the portrait in the picture is bright, then the background will be dark; If the portrait is dark, then the background is bright.

Fifth: the relationship between reality and reality.

The relationship between reality and reality is also a common contrast in portrait shooting. The main portrait has a real (clear) background. Treatment: use the large aperture of the lens to shoot, or try to keep the characters away from the background and pull them in with the telephoto of the lens.

Sixth: the relationship between color and gray.

The bright gray relationship is a contrast in color between the portrait and the background. The main body is bright and the background is gray or black. Processing method: Choose gray background shooting, or use post-processing.
