In the same color picture with highlights, shadows and out of focus, it will all cause out of focus. In a dark environment, there is a brand opportunity to have a focus assist light, and some will flash the focus. But strong light and the same color can't focus.
In the strong light environment, you can block the strong light in front of the lens with your hand, and then take your hand away after focusing.
In a dark environment, you can use things like flashlights for lighting. There is also an overhead flash, usually with an auxiliary focusing light.
In the same color background, you can put a focus object on the same plane, such as a piece of paper with different colors, or ask your partner to reach out and be the focus object.
If it doesn't work in the end, then do it manually.
