How to remove the red in the photo in the later stage?

Because this problem is very common when shooting with flash, almost all cameras sold at present have built-in red-eye correction function. Whether it is a low-end popular camera (red eye correction is a fixed function) or a DSLR (whether this function can be turned off or not can be set), red eye correction is a standard function on many digital cameras. However, the automatic red-eye correction tools in some cameras and some quick repair functions found in Photoshop may cause more problems in photos.

We can introduce using the red-eye tool or using the "channel mixer" or many * * repair methods to solve the red-eye problem, but if the red-eye is so serious that it is impossible to restore the natural eye color simply by removing the red from the eyes, then we will only introduce the best method. It may be necessary to restore the color of the eyes slightly after eliminating the red color. Try the following steps.

1. Create a selection around the eyes and feather the selection with 5 pixels or more. In some cases, it may be necessary to increase the feather amount to 15 pixels. The amount of feathering applied depends on the resolution of the image and the severity of the red-eye problem. If at first you don't succeed, you can restore the file and try * * feathering.

in figure 7-38, the problem of red eye is so serious that it is impossible to determine what the original eye color should be. In this example, it is necessary to remove the red eye and restore the eyes to their natural colors.

2. Select Image _ Adjustment _ Channel Mixer. In the Channel Mixer dialog box, you can see that the red channel slider is at 1%. Drag the slider to (zero), or enter (zero) in the Red Channel text box. Drag the "green" and "blue" sliders to 5%, as shown in Figure 7-39.

Usually 5% adjustment can solve all problems, but too much cyan will appear in the editing area. This will remove the red color from the image selection (see Figure 7-4).

3. If you want to restore the eye color, you may need to open a second file, which includes the natural eye color. If a lot of photos are taken for the object, then the red eye problem in some images may not be serious, showing the real eye color. Open this image, and then click the eyedropper tool to collect the color and use it as the new foreground color.

4. Close the second file and select the Color Substitution tool in the Tools palette.

5. use the "color replacement" tool to draw on the iris in the eye to restore the natural eye color. In Figure 7-41, we solved the problem of red eye, and then corrected the color and tone of * * and the color for brightness.
