The "60-year Seminar on Chen Fuli Film Art" was held in Beijing.

China Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and China Overseas Exchange Association hosted the symposium on Chen Fuli's 60-year film creation and the launching ceremony of the album Poetry, Shadow and Fan Xin at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse on the afternoon of March 24th, 2008.

Xu Jialu, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC), Li, Party Secretary and Vice Chairman of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Zhao Yang, Deputy Director of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Shao Hua, Chairman of China Photographers Association, Wang Liping, a famous musician, and other nearly 150 celebrities in photography, journalism and art attended the forum.

Zhao Yang, deputy director of the State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, congratulated Mr. Chen Fuli on behalf of the State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and China Overseas Exchange Association. He said that Mr Chen Fuli is one of the most famous contemporary photographers in China. His works are full of enthusiasm for the mountains and rivers of the motherland and people of all ethnic groups, reflecting the long-standing traditional culture of China, and reflecting people's joys and sorrows through the combination of realism and romanticism. In the words of Mr. Wen Yiduo, "the poet's mission is to love, love his country and love his people." Mr. Chen Fuli devoted his 60-year film career to an artist's infinite love for the motherland, and artistically reproduced the development of the times and the progress of China society with his numerous works. His works have won the love of the public.

Li, Shao Hua and other people from the literary and art circles and photography circles spoke highly of Mr. Li's artistic achievements and contributions to the construction of photography culture in China. At the meeting, 90-year-old Mr. Chen Fuli also recalled his 60-year-old rich photographic experience and once again expressed his persistent pursuit of photographic art and his love for the motherland. 16 members of China Photography Group who were unable to attend the meeting sent congratulatory messages or letters to the seminar.

Mr Chen Fuli is a famous patriotic returned overseas Chinese. He lived in Vietnam in his early years. In the 1940s, he actively participated in the overseas Chinese anti-Japanese national salvation movement and returned to Hong Kong in the 1950s. He loves his country and Hong Kong, and was elected as a member of China People's Political Consultative Conference in 1979. He has served as a member of the All-China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, vice chairman and consultant of the Chinese Photographers Association, honorary chairman of the World Chinese Photography Association, and honorary chairman of the Hong Kong Chinese Photography Association forever.
