Backlighting is not a new topic, but a basic topic of photography. The following are the techniques I shared for backlighting portrait shooting. Let's have a look.

First, the choice of shooting time

1, choose good weather to shoot, good weather will have good light quality and clear light source.

2. Choose the time of day when the sun angle is low. Summer AM 5: 00 -6: 00, PM 5: 00 -6: 00, winter AM 7: 00 -8: 00, PM 4: 00 -5: 00 are the best time to shoot the backlight, for one thing, the sunshine will not be too strong, and for another, it is convenient for us to choose the angle.

Second, the camera setting principle

1, m (manual shifting)-Backlight photography needs to highlight the model to separate the model from the background. When the camera shifts gears automatically, the illumination ratio of the background to the model is relatively large, which is prone to problems such as inaccurate light and inaccurate focus. Therefore, it is recommended to use manual shift and make manual adjustment according to the field situation.

2, large aperture-large aperture can create a blurred background and ensure light, strengthen the fresh style.

3. Spot metering/partial metering-In global metering and automatic metering, the camera can easily measure the background to darken the model. According to the situation, choose spot metering or partial metering to measure our model, so that the model can be properly exposed and the background is bright, which is the basic style of fresh style photos.

Third, model clothing and makeup.

1, the model should try to wear clean and simple clothes, and the color should not be too heavy. Plain coat, lace skirt, cotton and linen clothes will do. The "Mori Girl" style is very suitable for taking fresh photos.

2, as the name implies, fresh photos should be matched with fresh models, fresh models should have fresh makeup, models can wear nude makeup, and girls who are confident in their skin can wear plain makeup. Avoid too glamorous and sexy makeup.

Fourth, make good use of doors and windows for indoor shooting.

It is not always necessary to take photos of the backlight refresh system outdoors. When the light angle is good, you can move indoors, and you can take beautiful photos by using doors and windows to penetrate the nearest sunshine. If you want to highlight the outline of the model, let the light source be directly behind the model, and if you want to take pictures of the characters, let the light source be on the side of the model.

5. It is important to communicate with models.

Shooting portraits is different from shooting landscapes and objects. We need the model to form a tacit cooperation with us when shooting. Therefore, communication before shooting is very important, so you can spend more time chatting with models. Many girls who take fresh photos are shy when they are young. Photographers should know more about the feelings of the models, encourage the models when shooting, mobilize their emotions, find the best shooting angle, and let both sides reach the best state.
