Xu Qingfeng related events

In May 2007, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Finance jointly implemented the national major historical theme art creation project. After nearly a year's application and selection process, the scope of the topic and the list of creators were published in Beijing. 127 painters were selected in this list, including Qingdao painter Xu Qingfeng, whose theme was the oil painting battle in Taierzhuang.

In Xu Qingfeng's studio, he showed reporters three samples of Taierzhuang Campaign. Xu Qingfeng introduced that in order to create this oil painting, he first took a lot of pictures of the ancient city in Taierzhuang and collected many people. There are more than ten war movies on DVD in Xu Qingfeng's studio. "I know the battle of Taierzhuang by heart," Xu Qingfeng said with a smile.

Chen Danqing, his teacher in the Central Academy of Fine Arts, also came to Xu Qingfeng's studio to discuss the creation of this painting with the students. He suggested to Xu Qingfeng: Rent a studio in Bayi Film Studio, hire the best makeup artist and lighting room, paint makeup for the extras and watch the pictures of that year again. Otherwise, how can you draw the fallen soldiers? During the signing period in Beijing, artists such as Quan Shanshi, Xu Jiang, Yu,,, and so on also put forward pertinent suggestions on Xu Qingfeng's The Battle of Taierzhuang (the third draft). On September 22nd, 2009, the exhibition of major national historical and artistic creation projects jointly implemented by Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Finance opened in China Art Museum, offering a birthday gift for the 60th birthday of the motherland. Cai Wu, head of the major theme group, Vice Minister Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Culture, Li Congjun, vice president of Xinhua News Agency, Jin Shangyi, chairman of China Artists Association and director of the Art Committee of the Organizing Committee, attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition. During the exhibition, the summary meeting and symposium of major national historical and artistic creation projects were held at the same time, and the author was awarded the certificate of selected works and the certificate of national collection.

From June 5 to 10, 2009, Xu Qingfeng's oil painting "Battle of Taierzhuang" was selected for the national major historical and artistic creation exhibition held in China Art Museum. This is the only selected work and author in Qingdao.
