The Picture of the Yangtze River is a magical realistic love movie, written and directed by Qin Hao, Xin, Wu and Wang Hongwei.

The film tells two magical love stories that happened in the Yangtze River. It premiered at the 66th Berlin Film Festival on February 16, and was the only China film shortlisted for this Berlin Film Festival, with a film length of 1 16 minutes.

The film was released in Chinese mainland on September 8th, 20 16.

Plot:

Contemporary, along the Yangtze River in China.

Captain Gao Chun (Qin Hao) keeps going ashore to look for trouble while driving a cargo ship along the Yangtze River. But he gradually discovered that these women who met at different docks seemed to be the same person-An Lu (New Lei Zhi). Only with the voyage back, Anlu is gentle and crazy, but she is getting younger and younger. Gao Chun fell in love with Anlu and kept stopping to meet her, gradually discovering that the place where Anlu appeared was related to an unknown author's calligraphy poetry collection.

But after the ship crossed the Three Gorges, Anlu no longer appeared.

Gao Chun frantically searched for Anlu, and found the law of Anlu's appearance in his poems and circuit diagrams. Something happened on the ship, but he drove the cargo ship alone and continued to go up the Yangtze River, until the snowy mountain at the source, and finally discovered the origin of Anlu and the secret of the Yangtze River.

Gao Chun is the captain of a cargo ship. Because of his father's death, he started a freight trip in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. During the journey, he constantly met the newly played An Lu, and started a true and illusory love story with him.

Behind-the-scenes tidbits of the Yangtze River map

Qin Hao, the leading actor in the film, gained weight15kg because of the role of "The Yangtze River Scroll". Because the role has to eat and live on a boat for three months, he hardly washes his face for the sake of sloppy and bloated effect.

In the movie "Map of the Yangtze River", Gao Chun played by Qin Hao has been unable to meet the newly played An Lu for some time after the Three Gorges Dam. Therefore, the film specially shot a scene in Zhangfei Temple, which was moved from the original site.

In 2005, only in the script creation stage, the film was shortlisted for the "Studio Project" of Cannes Film Festival in France.

There is a scene in New Lei Zhi where you need to walk into the river, and the bottom of the river is covered with mud. However, due to the buoyancy of the clothes, people could not sink at all, so there was no shooting at the scene for several days. Not only that, she can't swim very well, and she needs to jump into the river from a moving boat.

Before joining the group, Qin Hao was told that he would stay in a "five-star cruise ship" when filming. Later, he learned that the name of the passenger ship was "five-star cruise ship".

The Yangtze River Map is in 4K edition. In order to cooperate with the screening of the 4K version, all CG and special effects shots of this film will be re-produced, and three versions will be presented in the cinema at the same time, 2K, 4K and Chinese giant screen.
