What is a polarizing filter and what is the difference between it and a UV filter? What is the function
Polarizer, also called polarizer, abbreviated as PL filter, is a kind of color filter. The outstanding function of polarizers is to selectively allow light that vibrates in a certain direction to pass through. It is often used in color and black-and-white photography to eliminate or weaken strong reflections on non-metallic surfaces, thereby eliminating or reducing light spots. For example, in scenery and landscape photography, it is often used to express the texture of objects in strong reflections, highlight the scenery behind the glass, darken the sky, and express blue sky and white clouds, etc.
UV glasses are anti-ultraviolet, such as those used when taking photos in mountains and snow. However, the CCD of digital cameras now generally has an anti-UV coating. Therefore, the current UV mirror basically only serves to protect the lens.
