How to avoid facial highlights in indoor photography
If you don't turn on the flash in indoor photography, it is generally not easy to have highlights on your face, but photographers often use the flash because the general indoor light is not very good. If the overhead flash is used, it is difficult to avoid highlights because the height and angle of the flash cannot be changed. You can wrap a piece of paper on the flash to reduce the direct exposure of the flash to the face and increase some diffuse reflection, which is conducive to reducing facial highlights. It is best to use an external flash. In this case, you can flash off the plane or make a 45-degree angle with the roof, and use diffuse light to add light to the whole character, not just the front. This can effectively avoid highlights on your face and leave ugly shadows on the wall behind you.
At the same time, wash off the oil on your face and apply some powder on your face to reduce the reflection caused by oily light, which leads to the appearance of highlights.
