Practicing medicine is a career, and painting is a wish. Both are creative activities of the soul, and both are professions that test the soul. Dr. Song Yongkui, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Chang Gung University, is a well-known doctor and painter in the field of artificial reproductive medicine in Taiwan Province Province. He often picks up a paintbrush after his busy work, and transforms what he has seen and heard since he was a doctor for more than 30 years into various life images through colored pens. In order to share his creative experience with more friends, Dr. Song held a solo exhibition "Colorful Images in White Robe-Song Yongkui's Oil Paintings" from March 10 16 to March 27 in the Art Museum on the third floor (Emerald Art Museum).

For more than 30 years, Dr. Song has been pursuing new and sophisticated medical skills and never stopped pursuing new knowledge. Even in life, he has a humble heart and encourages himself to bravely accept different challenges. Four years ago, Dr. Song, who loves painting, joined the Taiwan Province Artists Salon Association. So far, his works have been selected into the French artists' salon for three times. Faced with such an honor, Dr. Song modestly believes that thanks to the guidance and discussion of his predecessors, his painting techniques have been slightly improved, and his creative ideas have also evolved, gradually changing from expressionism in the past to ideas, and expressing some problems of modern people with personal ideas, such as insufficient communication and complicated living environment.

As far as painting style is concerned, as a doctor, the painter is very familiar with the human body structure and is good at capturing the rhythm curve, bone structure, texture and vein of the human body. After retirement, Dr. Song had a deeper understanding of Buddhism, so he began to try the Buddha statue in Molin Yungang Grottoes, hoping to enlighten all beings through the solemn practice of the Buddha statue. This exhibition combines the above two styles, and friends who like oil painting are welcome to visit and guide.
